That RNS describes the SGS contract with AZ, and the interest that Vela has in any post P2 commercialisation by SGS of the “asset”. I’m assuming that SGS got its commercialisation rights from AZ, but I also see EML has secured exclusive rights to, and owns the patents for AZD1656, which I’m also assuming is the same thing as SGS002, ie the “asset”.

Is this right? Like I say, I apologise for what might seem rudimentary questions and am grateful for any help.

I’m trying to understand the relationship between AZ, EML, SGS and Vela and in particular the rights each has in relation to AZD1656, and would thank anyone who could give me a steer!

Is SGS002 the same thing as AZD1656?

Out of interest, in people’s experience is it usual for a company to issue a reminder about warrant lapse dates in an RNS? Just seemed a little odd to me, as if the company were encouraging the exercise of those warrants.

I bought in today because of the people involved, the low mcap, and the drug potential. For me it’s a punt, but I liked the fact that the drug has already been proven to work; whilst 4 months wasn’t long enough for a pure diabetic treatment it seems perfect to help diabetics during shorter periods of Covid risk.

The other potential benefits of the drug will be exciting to hear about too…

Hi all - am a newbie here and am hoping there might be some patient posters who could help me understand what Vela has!

Am I right in thinking that

1. We have an agreement with SGS
2. That agreement relates to the commercialisation of an “asset”
3. The “asset” is a Covid therapeutic primarily for treatment of diabetics with Covid, but which may also have general properties extending the longevity of Covid immunity
4. We get 8% of all commercial proceeds over £19.2m allowing for certain other costs
5. Trial results due 6/9.
6. Major players involved

Is that the nub of it? If so, have there been any thoughts about what commercial proceeds SGS and therefore Vela are looking for?

Sorry for the newbie question but, to be honest, I’m hoping we get a lot more newbies over the next week or so as interest grows.

I suppose I’m assuming that if the site was updated on 20/8, then the position must be accurate as at that date. If that’s the case then TB has sold nothing. If not, and he has sold, then the update is inaccurate and misleading.

Just for info - BRH updated its site on 20/8 to reflect TB’s full increased holding following the placing.

So TB sold none between when the placing was announced on 13/8, and 20/8, including I assume none of the new shares admitted on 19/8.

We’re currently quoted at 26/31, a 16% spread!!!

It appears that on 1 April the DHSC engaged Ankara Consulting to conduct and audit of contracts between the U.K. RTC and the DHSC at a cost of £348,000.

The dates here are a little confusing…

The audit contract has a commencement date of 30/11/20 and an expiry date of 31/3/21, with a “project plan” to be produced within 3 days of the commencement date and weekly updates provided thereafter. The contract itself, however is dated 1/4/21, ie the day after the contract expired. It was published on bidstats on 1July 21.

I can only assume the audit was procured around November last year, probably because of the GLP action, and that it has been completed by now. Furthermore, if it’s the case that the govt told ABDX in Jan 21 that funds had been cleared for payment, then we might assume the audit found no issues.
