Sunak is as corrupt as the rest of them: he has literally today just arranged for his ex-boss to become Chairman of the BBC. Because, of course, rather than having any relevant experience, only a career working at Goldman Sachs and being mates with the Chancellor of a government that has spent months handing out no-tender contracts to their chums can possibly qualify anyone for a senior position overseeing the nation's cultural life. Moreover, Sunak is also responsible for (a) the Eat Out to Help Out scheme which is now known to have caused an explosion in Covid cases at the exact moment we should have been eliminating the virus and implementing a workable test-trace-isolate system (to then open the economy safely) and (b) inviting the Swedish herd immunity wackos over in September which encouraged Johnson to ignore the SAGE committee's advice on implementing a circuit breaker lockdown. Both of these decisions paved the way for the massive uplift in cases, ultimately resulting in far longer and more damaging lockdowns that we might otherwise have needed, as well as the mutation that has since happened. Sunak is therefore directly responsible for many thousands more deaths than there could have been, while his decisions have caused more economic pain than was necessary. In fact, we have the worst of both worlds: one of the worst death rates by far and one of the worst economic impacts. British people really need to get over their cap-doffing deference to posh, telegenic, well-spoken charlatans who've got their hands in the till.
