Dmitri's holding is actually 465 million if you include his controlling stake in Deloan investments. One thing I've wondered all along whether the size of his holding may be influencing the specific buy-out price that EUA are bargaining for.

A deal like this for an upwardly mobile Russian businessman is about signalling status as much as it is just making money. So, Dmitri would need a buyout price of around £2.15 or so in order to make a billion quid (or $2.15 to be a dollar billionaire). I wonder if he nailed that number on the door a year ago with a sign saying "don't bother knocking unless this is your starting point".

I'd be happy with that, since I actually have one-thousandth of his holding (just under half a million) so that would make me a millionaire!

Because, of course, rather than having any relevant experience, only a career working at Goldman Sachs and being mates with the Chancellor of a government that has spent months handing out no-tender contracts to their chums can possibly qualify anyone for a senior position overseeing the nation's cultural life. Moreover, Sunak is also responsible for (a) the Eat Out to Help Out scheme which is now known to have caused an explosion in Covid cases at the exact moment we should have been eliminating the virus and implementing a workable test-trace-isolate system (to then open the economy safely) and (b) inviting the Swedish herd immunity wackos over in September which encouraged Johnson to ignore the SAGE committee's advice on implementing a circuit breaker lockdown. Both of these decisions paved the way for the massive uplift in cases, ultimately resulting in far longer and more damaging lockdowns that we might otherwise have needed, as well as the mutation that has since happened. Sunak is therefore directly responsible for many thousands more deaths than there could have been, while his decisions have caused more economic pain than was necessary. In fact, we have the worst of both worlds: one of the worst death rates by far and one of the worst economic impacts. British people really need to get over their cap-doffing deference to posh, telegenic, well-spoken charlatans who've got their hands in the till.

1. If there was no offer on the table, it would have ended a long time ago. FSPs don't just drag on with lawyers and bankers involved if there is nothing to sell.

Nobody is squeezing out the smaller fish: they are squeezing themselves out. If they just stopped selling, the price would have to rise. It's not rocket science.

If people held their nerve and didn't sell at 33.8p then the MMs wouldn't be able to walk the price down. It mystifies me that we all know how this works and yet people still won't learn.

It says on the OTC website that their trading hours are from 6am - 5pm EST. If so, surely they've been open since 11am UK time?

I thought that too Gecko but had a quick look back and all the big ones recently (MT flanks, WK etc) have been at 7am. Must be for propriety’s sake (and the perception of propriety) and all choreographed now until the endgame.
