FWIW, LTHs here have spent five years or more listening to botflies turning up and trying to "help" with their advice; none of us listened to them then; nobody is going to now.

For the LTH’s since the highs of late 2020, I sincerely hope for you it does recover back to those levels.

Funny how loads of people who never normally post here have turned up saying they've sold out. Almost as if they're trying subliminally to encourage others to do the same.

£1 has always been a possibility. The assets have an NPV of c.$5bn and possibly more. Metals prices only going one way over the long term. Whether or not it is now likely is another matter. Nonetheless, sentiment has returned and it feels like the lowball amounts that have been lobbed around the past couple of years like 10p look like they'll be surpassed with relative ease.

Been a long three years, but I'd like to raise a big fat glass of Venezuelan rum with one of those big chunky ice cubes that takes ages to melt to all the LTHs who have held long and strong. Drink this moment in everyone.

Nice to see a bit of movement, but doesn't feel like a leak or anything big to me. Volume still pretty low, and, as has been the pattern for ages, it's the small buys and sells that are appearing to spike or depress the share price, whereas all sizeable trades are still going through in a range around or just below 5p. Hope I'm wrong though!

Yes. Not saying it will happen overnight, but the pressure from European businesses for governments and the EU to follow the US lead so they can resume/normalise their investments in Russia will be enormous. It's also quite conceivable, to my mind, that Putin will very quickly remove Russia's exit restrictions to force European hands: "hey guys, we're open for business, isn't it about time you let your companies come back?"

Once a peace plan is agreed, however unsatisfactory, it's surely the only direction of travel, especially if the sweetener is that Russia agrees to Ukraine having a path to EU membership (whether or not Ukraine can ever meet accession requirements, though, is a different matter).

@GM - The shares in issue figures are right as I had a quick scan over the RNSs, but you could well be right on the MCap requirements. There was a lot of talk about it iirc in late 2020 when the SP was a lot higher than my suggested 8p.

It's quite mad that we're only five days away from the FIVE YEAR anniversary of the suspension pending clarification of the company's relationship with CITIC!

On Trump, that Daily Mail "find" is pretty much what any sentient being could have dreamed as being the likely outcome of any Trump-designed peace agreement: Ukraine gives up territory and Nato aspirations; Russia gives up fighting and accepts Ukraine's political future is in the EU and its security is guaranteed by others; big DMZ between the two policed by European soldiers.

The sticking points are whether the Ukrainians are prepared to accept this or not, given Russia isn't really giving up very much and is getting a lot of territory, but Realpolitik will likely dictate that outcome for them, and then there's the question of who foots the bill, and I can't see European taxpayers being happy about stumping up the full half-trillion.

It's going to be a painful few years, so I suspect that Zelensky, who, whether you like him or not -- and I personally think he's a hugely impressive figure who has held firm for three years while his country has been brutalised by a bullying superpower -- looks absolutely exhausted, and will surely be off for a comfortable retirement in London or somewhere sunny. War leaders are never very good at governing the peace.

You could be right, but I don't think there were that many more shares in issue. There were 2.758m shares in circulation in December 2020 around the time of the big spike to 40p, and then the 2021 placing for $20m only saw 106m shares and warrants issued, taking the total in circulation then to about 2.865bn. We're only a bit beyond that now with the further 20m that Sanderson and Schaffalitzky have taken between them. Plus, remember that, although Sanderson can take quite a bit more, this is offset by all the other executives seeing their options lapse last year. So, all in all, we're still looking at around 3bn shares fully diluted, which is what we've been looking at for about five years in one way or another IMO.

The rising share price is evidently drawing attention from elsewhere, so much so that the Motley Fool have taken it upon themselves to write a typically glib, under-researched and ill-informed piece on the subject:
