Painful as the Morph and Morphine show will be in 2 weeks, we all have a dividend coming the following week - lets hope we don't see "with immediate effect" from them.
Its unfortunate timing that has depressed our SP to the 290-320 arena with a potential additional windfall being the root cause. Any run up awaiting N Eigg results has been stymied. It would be tempting to reinvest the dividend or add more on knowing 17th Nov decision, but we have a perfect storm if hit with windfall and a dry hole.
Perplexed and annoyed with the mess - holding for drill result !!

Unfortunately its always the Shareholders, that bear the burden. It took over a decade for the II's holding FPM to capitulate. Ultimately, the Company is a success for this management team, who will no doubt continue with another 3-5 tranches on prospects next year. and award themselves handsome salaries and options.
I didn't buy in until we reached 50p, so underwater even with foreknowledge of these rascals. No averaging down for me any more - bottom drawer. GLA.

Now what a rich playing field to extract a windfall tax - after all they have broad shoulders to carry the amount of coin they extract. William, Duke of Normandy would be proud of them.

Having spent the day travelling back from the Lake District yesterday, suffering three traffic jams and a 25 mile tail back due to a crash, it came as no surprise that we were down - just the extent!!
The journalistic diatribe certainly had an effect.
Similar to a lot of LTH this is also my largest holding and yesterdays paper loss was "large". We clamoured for a dividend not so long back and then an increase, which we now have - lest that is forgotten and on a personal position is attractive.
Lets hope that the Chancellor weasels a method of extracting a windfall from Bp and Shell rather than the second tier producers - and lets not forget all the other companies making excess profits - rather than the easy target.
Watching with interest - buying opportunity once we know direction, tempered by Decembers N Eigg result. GLA and remember we have had our ups and downs previously.

I really hope the likes of Serica, Kistos, Harbour, etc are involved in the talks rather than the likes of Shelll and Bp. I am raging at the television most mornings with Labourites demanding an increase in the wealth tax, Shell speaking from a pedestal stating they have paid no tax this quarter - totally ignoring these (Shell, Bp) are international companies with taxes paid in the countries of origin. Yet again we are under the burden of robber barons who really just want to take 100%. Rant over.

Concur, re their exit plan - I expect they would want a large institution to agree a price!!
I expect a number of wee O&G, are despairing of receiving a farm in proposal - perhaps the slide rule is out looking at these as their SP returns to norms or sinks lower. Steady away.

They have to be - especially with a growth fund. Added today even later in the cycle than my previous purchase a 100p cheaper!! I should sit on my hands longer!!

I suspect the "Hardy's, love the dividend Newk. If they hold the shares within their Company, its paid free of any tax as CT has already been paid by Serica. Its only once they take the money out that tax is imposed.
Or they are sitting on a lot of shares in a SIPP or Share Account - not an ISA as their initial purchase was of a £1m .
I'm not in that league and have bought during this reversal and although looking at a substantial paper loss,
the dividend pays me a handsome wage whilst a recovery comes - it will. GLA.

Market appears to think we are about to get ravished - again. Whilst tempting to buy at 335p, methinks its wiser to see what next week brings. Perhaps another Chancellor, or better yet the lady fall on her bayonet, over the handling of the situation - oops that's honourable and not the done thing in the political arena.

The i3e UK office in Westhill, Aberdeenshire has a "To Let" sign on its window. Mind its not on its own here in Aberdeen.

Cornerstone bring in a partner for the Abbey Field Development - no idea who it is, but 51% would be nice for Serica and operatorship.
Lets also not forget Platypus in the Licensing round. 51% of that and operatorship would also be nice and I assume Parkmead are interested too, our partner in Skerryvore.
Its nice having a warchest - just need to utilise it.

So back to 340-350p prior to Ex-dividend date.
As usual - I'm interested and may well add in the next few days.

I feel like Methusalah having been here so long and I suspect we are in "end game" rather than bagging territory, which doesn't help peops that invested in the 300-400p territory if they wanted action.
Avoided Enquest like a plague since 2010 - lets not even consider.
Buyout at circa 500p - I'm in!!

Bp were in Namibia, having bought into Serica Energy's two licences, then reneged after the seismic and pulled out. Painful period with BP giving the olive branch of a tranche of Erskine to Serica. No friends in business, but it certainly supported SQZ.
I'm guessing Serica are kicking themselves for relinquishing their Namibia licences now things are happening.

i3e, Eco and Serica, all within my portfolio were or are drilling - scratch one today. Was the least likely, so onwards and upwards.
About time one came in and Serica is due, seeing as I have been here since the Conan prospect and am still waiting.

Good comments Dick, agree with your sentiment re Bp and Shell and I concur with your comments re JOG. Good to see your making hay there - unfortunately my Trap Oil lesson, made me averse to holding them. Good to hear from you.

Concur with your thoughts Newk and perhaps timing was not right for an out of rounds request with authorities - time will tell.
Looking forward again to my dividend - although you could say I already invested it when we plumbed 340-350p.
