You will recall cyberdoggy that the Carlyle bid talk of £1,40 in Nov '21 seriously undervalued metro according to the bod.... dont shoot them down just yet- it may actually get somewhere in the next 18 months...
xxxAcountant.... Have a butchers at this link, forecast 2023 & 24 Income Statement Evolution (Annual data) gives some indication...

I agree, this looks like a minor dip before the boe and Lloy seems to be holding up...I know we've had 100% uplift in a few months but it does look like its on a trajectory... just at a slower pace.- I did off load a few last week to put into some tech but I do believe MTRO will hit £2 at some point this year..... we'll see.
I also took advantage of the 700 leap- plenty still in the pot though. It may well retrace and as others mention OCDO does seem to be caught as a traders share. The talk of a major hic cup in the markets does seem to be doing the rounds on various podcasts-but Im not sure, a lot of companies are doing very well. Slightly off topic but I'm also a holder of thg and it was interesting to see the start up fund kelso take a stake- albeit 0.4% - in the company as they see a gap in oversold territory. Maybe tech has been hit too hard and is due some uplift?
I continue to add to my holding here, only a 1000 shares at a time- but it’s now turning into a weekly exercise- so at some point I’d like to be rewarded for my efforts…before I run dry…. a bounce would be welcome.
Indeed…. The £3m raised in January has been spent all in one go…. On one share…..Reminds me of my childhood birthday and getting £10 from an Aunt- the next day I spent it all on one giant gobstopper….
Kelso believes this is an exciting first investment for its shareholders.....(thats what we all thought when we first bought into THG) ;-).....But, Well done so far- your 5m purchase yesterday at 54p has increased by £250k already today....
In case anyone monitors this type of thing…..The 2 x 25k trades are both buys-not sells- the second one at 22.90 just dropped under the ask. It’s mine.
Jimjam….. happy days are coming for you
Pat….. if there’s a bell I’ll ring it!
I’ve tried my hand at campanology and rang the free beer bell in my local more times than I can remember….. I’ll hopefully steer clear of the big C bell!
Over 140p… blimey
We all remember the days of near 10% shorts on metro a couple of years back-I was terribly underwater on my shares…Anyway odey sitting around 4% now, I really can’t see them having that level too long- the UK Banks are looking stronger month by month…..let’s hope they go back to 2% or lower in February… on a positive note I’m now finally back in profit territory… all good things come to those who wait:-)
Caius has increased their stake to 5% and odey hasn’t reduced short… is it a tug of war? £1.33 still the ceiling but surely it has to pop soon-
I’m finally starting to relax as a long term holder of metro…
Results for the period are as predicted. I think they have underestimated the expected year profit for June 23 at £8m, I think it’ll be above that. Good to read predictions of 20% by 2025, that’s about £40m profit. Share price at £2 ish should continue to move up imo and no reason why it won’t be sitting at £4+ in a year or so…. The mcap is around £300m currently so plenty of room.. gl all!
The ceo of Ocado just done the same... £156...... pointless exercise. I wonder how many accountants and nomads had to sign that off..... Either cough up at least £50k or dont bother.
We are all holding a lot of shares here- the resources just keep getting better and better- I can’t believe how this is still under 5p let alone under 2p…..
threeputt..... too damn right im playing the wrong game..! I first bought in at £8! Averaged down and traded a lot to get to £1.34,... the game I should have played was shorting along with Toady Odey at £30!! Anyway- Its hard to call the bottom or top so i'll be happy to get out of some my holdings with a smile...;-) I sincerely Hope it motors beyond £1.34 before I notice...
I didn’t state that comparison- I pointed out that shoppers are still out there willing to buy premium. It’s fine by me- there are a lot of us that continue buying quality chocolate products at retailers such as hotel chocolat, while other consumers are more price conscious and tempted to sift through boxes in other stores in search of something akin to brown emulsified lard…. You generally get what you pay for.
