You cant compare the products of HOTC to the centre aisle dump bins in lidl...HOTC has a very strong loyalty base, with over 85% vip customers returning for velvetiser products- I'd guess that 85% of lidl customers will have dumped their machine within 2 months of using it.. As for money in peoples pockets-I went to Harrods and Fortnum & Mason a few times in December and the stores were rammed with shoppers. The mid year trading update from HOTC did state they expect headwinds in 2023 so it wont be a surprise if another 40% yoy isn't achieved- but we are also a long way down from the £5+ of this time last year. I'm happy to hold and see how this year pans out.
Not much to ramp about until end of feb....hopefully then It will pop over my break even of £1.34 and I can bail out with a working chute, ....came so close the other day but it topped at £1.28, and with my 30k shares that 6p was too much...doh! .... It felt like they know I want to leave!...;-)
Yep, trading update should be around 18th Jan, and looking at other retailers who are reporting significant increases in the xmas trading run up this should be a good omen for HOTC. Obviously inflationary issues linger but we have Valentines & Easter to come- and chocolate is always a winner for those two!
Japan jv. Happy New Year choclatiers! So it looks like world domination is back on Angus's wish list- a different approach that hopefully reaps rewards.. Fair game buying in at these levels imo- a good run back upto the £4 levels would be a nice way to leave 2023?..... hold for me.
Although I love a dividend- I don’t expect one here for some time. The catalyst to propel the share price will be the institutional take up- the pension funds and insurance funds who are now able to come back to investing in Metro. They pulled out rapidly a few years ago for obvious reasons- but we’re back on track now and the funds will come back. Gl lths it’s been tough!
..... so apparently it rains a lot now in the Australian woop woop....who'd have thought.....
Anyway I recall years ago I drove from Perth to Sydney- didnt realise at the time but passed by Wudina- it was as dry as a Nuns habit- maybe climate change or global warming? I think thats what cloudy days are now referred as.....
I went to the Presentation. I noticed how slick Gil presents himself- at one point I thought we were buying second hand cars...... nice buffet if you ever get a chance to attend a future event.....
Anyway- I agree with what he says- we do need to hit one commercial strike and then we will be happy shareholders.....
but please get the farm in sorted at 3b & get Total to clear Tullow out of the picture at Guyana.
...........until then I'll reflect on the bacon baps.
I thought most information is out there already- current mine has 2 years life and major investment required for Madagascar….. 10p next- crazy days.
COBR send their rns updates from Australia… by post…. Hopefully there’s enough meat in the next one to feed the snake!
And just who keeps selling at 1.50?? Churn from placement? Whoever you are…. Stop for a while!
I hope Mondelez take this over!
The 29th is an investors presentation…. I’d hope they release news by then- but it doesn’t really affect the event if they don’t…. They will undoubtedly talk about future events in Namibia & Guyana- & it’ll be odd not to talk about Gazania other than ongoing/exciting/blah….
Anyway- that’s 12 days away- so countdown is on
Cheers LTT, good to see boat action continues....... Regarding Keith Hill/Gill.....I'm not sure with this lot what constitutes end of the month..20 -25 days is rapidly turning into 40 days... Eco has an Investors meeting on 29th- so surley Gil will want to sing to us by then??
My 10k top up at 14:46 once again shows as sell on this site...well, its not really a top up- I'm just buying back the 10 I sold on Monday at 78....... passes the day I suppose & enables me to lose the gain elsewhere!..... Inflation is our enemy |Today/Thursday it seems (until next week & then we'll be up again....imo)
