thats probably getting marginal in any csae. They're all clearly working together so the FPSO comes off Lancaster and goes imemdiately for a refurb/upgrade. That will suit everyone - Prax, Navitas, Bluewater & the NSTA. Minimum downtime and cost all round

AFAIK it's just a reasonable guess - no announcement made. She's quite old (built 75, refurb'd 09) - they may want something a bit newer if she's going to be down there for years. The vital thing is that they have to get a "warm" rig & crew - not one that has been stacked. She's currently working for Shell of Shetland- maybe until July?

In theory you are correct, however the history of the UKCS AND the FI is full of people (including the likes of BP, Exxon & SHell) wriggling out of their Licence commitments with the agreement of the OGA/NSTA/Govt etc etc. I'd certainly agree that JHI probably wouldn't get a break - but Navitas as Operator?? Having just committed zillions to the FI? I think it'll be a very diffent conversation. For a start - they have some money whereas JHI were clearly broke.

A realist might suggest that there were "conversations" before they even approached JHI.

Of all the oilers I know I'd have said that UJO was one of the least likely to get into an internal fight for control. There's nothing there guys......

Whilst pl001 expires in a year it can easily be extended for 10 years by offering a well or two in the next period.

Navitas can easily do that. No need to bring the rig down early.

Yes we can expect to be relisted next week. Might be uncertainty if the finance deal not finalised by then.

UKOG may not be the best set of explorers in the world but by God they have some sharp folk when it comes to corporate structure and raisng cash.

The genius move was to avoid getting any large investors who would certainly intervened to change the Board and Management years ago. They use their city mates to raise cash with vast amounts of dilution, pump & dump on a giagntic sale and then the use of the Pensions Fund to keep control when things started to get a bit rough. They've also avoided piling up debts to outsiders which has been the downfall of ANGS. It's all paper than swills around between HHDL, UKOG and the others.

Looking back the time the Fench came in and then exited quickly should have warned us all. They clearly didn't like what they saw and I suspect the Board were s*** scared they'd stay and then pull the rug from under the incumbents. The non-exec's have been a silent joke.

I agree that winfrith et al come with a great deal of baggage.

Tyou can never tell WHY they post what they do. I've heard all sorts if stories over the years about them.

I was told by someone in Stanley that that is emergency accomodation. Normally they will arrange crew changes to meet the charter flights bringing in the new shift. The charter will arrive, the crews get off, pass through immigration and then go straight out to the FPSO. and the home going crews will just get on the charter and leave. This is how previous drilling campaigns were done. Also in places like Algeria during the troubles there.

The issue will come if and when the weather or some mechanical malfunction occurs and you have a whole crew stuck in Stanley waiting. This happened 10+ years ago when a small cruise ship landed several hundred pax for the day and then couldn't get them back in the evening - they billeted the pax everywhere - church hall, hospital, and people's floors, spares beds and sofas.

I understand that once Mt. Pleasant opened the RAF built similar emergency accomodation (which is apparently very rough) on Ascension for their flights for the same reason.

The consensus amongst long term sufferers here is that Ocelot is NOT an employee of the Company nor their Nomad - the risk of being discovered and made an example of by the FCA is too great. People in the finance sector have better things to do - there are much easier ways to make money.

He/she is almost certainly a publicity hack associated with people who deal in small oilers. They use the Ocleot ID to comment on a small group of associated oilers. Interestingly, they have NEVER claimed to own a single share in any of these companies. I don't think you could ever accuse she/he of lying but they won't get many marks for telling the truth on Judgement Day.

PS they seem to have had The intern foisted on to them at one point - used the Ocelot ID for a week or so and the difference in style, content and intelligene was very marked - they were later transferred to the abusive James Conroy ID who seems to have gone missing when faced with hard facts.

From the headline on his site it seems to be something about accomodation in London. Probably a Company flat kept for the use of the Directors I'd guess. Not good - but not unusual either, unfortunately

Exactly - another brilliant ANGS decsioion. Like re-enteringthe wrog well, bore, planning to use used US kit, getting the sidetrack appallingly wrong, taking months to get the compressor tuned up. It's hard to think of a single decision they've made that has turned out well. I 'd hoped once JTS left the scene that thnings might improve but it seems not.

HITS the obvious reason that they haven't foreclosed is to avoid issues with the NSTA and the lucence.

Better to run the company through a couple of puppets, keep rhe shares suspended and decide how to extract value (or a big writeoff for tax) when it suits you.
