One way to bring this to the attention of MP's is to focus on the Nottinghamshire MP's as it is on their doorstep so to speak. You can all do this by re-tweeting Thomas Moore's tweet from earlier today (see below for link) and tagging the 11 Nottinghamshire MP's in your tweet (I have listed their twitter handles below to Dave you finding them). You might want to add a polite comment that mentions Nottingham along the lines of 'Why is the Nottingham Vaccine work not getting govt. support ?'

3. Big investor Martin Diggle has now sold most of his investment here. In only a few months. At these prices he obviously feels no big price move Imminent.

As far as I am aware there were 2 relatively small sales (compared to size of holding) by Diggle representing a small fraction of their holding. Where did. you get your information that they have sold most of their holding ?

I have videod the Sky report using my phone - quality is pretty good.

One further point, Sky have obviously put some effort into this package so I expect it will be repeated a few times this evening.

The piece on Sky was excellent - what a difference it makes when the piece is put together by a professional TV journalist. Got the key points across really well, and even had some animation showing how COVIDITY targets both the spike and the central protein. Hopefully this will get some attention of those holding the purse strings in UKRI.

you may well be right but the lack of a commercial deal speaks for itself i.e. there is a gap in the capability of the BOD that needs to be addressed. Hopefully Ursula will be the missing piece of the jigsaw.

You may argue that the collaborations and the CRUK arrangements are 'deals', which is fine, but I want to see a commercial deal that means we don't need to keep coming back to the market to raise dilutive funds at ever reducing prices.

I certainly wasn't implying that we should be looking to match big Pharma with regard to CEO calibre and salary - that will be a happy day when we can afford to do that. At this stage we just need to make sure the BOD has the right personnel on board to be able to get some deals done.

yes, maybe that is why Ursula was brought in as a non-exec but her bio on the company site doesn't imply any background in deal making. Clearly Mr. Diggle will want to see commercial progress so my hopes are currently pinned on him orchestrating appropriate changes.

yes, agreed. The other problem, which often precedes problem you mention, is the recognition by the BOD that they actually have a problem / weakness which they need to address. This is where non-execs are key in identifying weaknesses in the BOD (are ours good enough to do this ?), and I guess shareholders can play their part if they raise the matter in an effective way. The recruitment problem could be partially overcome by using a specialist recruiter, but there will no doubt be lots of small pharmas looking for the same thing.

To me the problem seems quite clear. The science is good - when 'tested' it has shown itself to be effective through the pre-clinical and clinical work and has shown itself to be credible through the collaborations which it has engendered. The BOD, on the other hand, have not proven themselves to be effective in the critical area of deal making - this is not a criticism of the BOD as I'm sure they have been trying, but results speak for themselves and so far they have shown themselves not to have the capability to achieve this. To criticise the BOD for failing to get a deal would be like criticising a defender for not not regularly scoring - what the BOD need to do is address their now obvious weakness by recruiting somebody with the skill, credibility, experience, industry standing and contacts to fill this deal making gap. Easier said than done but clearly needed. If they can't do a deal now when the opportunity for COVIDITY and the science that underpin it are so good then that says it all for me.

Good spot BS - may be worth making Scancell aware in case they have not spotted it. Looks like a very good way to raise some potentially non dilutive funds alongside a dilutive fundraise to support the cancer work.

I was wondering whether the journalist had got confused with the Oxford vaccine which AZ will be manufacturing if it is successful. However RGs response to the email that somebody sent him earlier simply said not to rely on what you read in the press as some general journalists don't understand the science properly. This reference to not understanding the science would seem to imply that the journalist got it right regarding the manufacturing side of things, in which case it maybe that talks are ongoing ref funding the trials or maybe they want to see if govt funding can be obtained first before spending their own money.

Chester - regarding your question abut delay. I don't think the company would issue an RNS simply about the fact that they are talking to interested parties as this is to be expected and isn't newsworthy. I expect that the first we will hear is when some sort of deal has been concluded and that this will take time (although hopefully will be quicker than normal given the urgency of the work).
