Here is the specific quote (from the Sky news article) regarding the pre-clinical data:-

There must be a reason behind this flurry of press / tv occurring now. The objective of it (IMO) is to set the scene by making the public aware of the Notts/Scancell universal vaccine development immediately prior to making a key announcement relating to its progress. I think the most logical announcement at this stage will be the pre-clinical data as they appear to now have this data available - it was mentioned in one of the reports that the Covidity vaccine has shown a a level of antibody and T-Cell response which is equal to or better than some existing vaccines. This may then be the trigger for partnership with a major Pharma.

Hi Bermudashorts - tonights Sky article stated that manufacture is underway astCobra Bio and also had footage from inside the Cobra facility.

And that inverse head and shoulders I mentioned a few days ago is also now in the perfect position for a sharp upward rise...

Darren, wow you really think only a 10% to 30% spike for something that will be utterly transformational for the company (and for cancer treatment). Assuming that it is between £1.50 and £2 when the result is announced I'd expect a spike closer to 100%.

To get the vaccine outcome we have it was no doubt absolutely necessary to circumvent best practice (e.g. open tender, full transparency etc) - it is a wartime situation and required an unorthodox response. The outcome certainly suggests that KB was the right person for the job and her methods were the right ones.

This no doubt creates lots of opportunities for those looking to criticise those in power and the Guardian has not let this opportunity be missed. Perhaps they would have preferred an approach similar to the Europeans - I look forward to their editorial on this.

Hi Burble, I hope you get a positive outcome, it would certainly be a great shame for future patients if the work on less common cancers is a big casualty of the current situation.

I wonder to what extent the huge funding which is pouring into the listed sector biotechs will offset the downturn in the charitable sector ? Will scientists who can no longer be sustained in the charitable sector provide the additional workforce needed by the listed sector ? Could this be benefitting Scancell who must be recruiting to accelerate their work now the that they have funding - is this recruitment now easier / more achievable than it might otherwise have been?

Yes Ruck I would think so.

Ruck, SCOV1 (or SN15) was one of the original combinations of S/N targetting vaccine constituents being tested in the lab for Antibody and T-Cell generation efficacy. SN14 (the selected combination) contains the Modified -FC element for the N Protein and the Modified FC for the S, whereas SN15 contains the Modified-FC element for the N Protein and the Monomer for the S. From the results RNS it seems that SN15 may be better at eliciting anti-S virus neutralising antibodies (VNAbs) and high avidity T cells. I recall from the AGM video that picking out the best combination of elements was tricky (although I believe the SN14 and SN15 were looking like the best).
