Colleagues, I have been told on many occasions to go away and read a book .I don't recall ever responding in similar vein. Life and time are too precious to waste. I wished to join people on this forum so that I may, politely, ask questions about various situations as they arose, and received good and kindly answers. I have not been able to read a book, since still in recovery stage after an eye operation. I can type and read your comments because I have a software system that magnifies text for me. What I don't like to see is colleagues denigrating others writing on here. We are, I believe, anxious that this company, busy enlarging its factory at Runcorn, about 30 miles from Manchester, in order to cope with requirements of various partners. It is only recently that I learned that the production of QDs ready for shipment is hazardous work. I wouldn't venture into that factory, as an Intern or visitor, and especially not to spy on the work there. Buying shares in a company means - WHAT ? Certainly, not the privelege of getting to know secretive and essentially inside commercial knowledge which if disclosed to others could lead to the ruination of the company, as well breaching the message from the Financial Conduct Authority printed on this page, which may lead to imprisonment. The new agreement with Naval enhances the possibilty of new orders being obtained via the french company obtaining contracts within EURO as a substantial member and also with other countries within the French goverments influence. President Macron seems to have established a good reputation in world political circles and may very much welcome such agreements between companies who can share technologies when it matters. The Micropore system can be fitted into small submarines not yet fitted with any such life-saving equipment. Agree entirely with your note about the way forward. I felt very good when I learned about them buying the IT companies, I believe these actions brought us a great expansion in the types of contracts we could win. The personnel employed there obviously have different skills to the engineering staff, and if necessasy can brief each other about parts of potential contracts to be obtained. Forgive my intrusion but the company decided to do a "Consolidation" by removing some shares. At the same time they decided to pay a special dividend which you mention of 84.375 Pence per share. This special divi came from selling a chunk of the business for �4b. Why did they mix the two proposals together ? I am pleased National Grid are running a business in the USA, they are in a good position to learn and use the systems in vogue in that country. Not only selling gas in New York City but electricity in places like Massasschusetts as well as having a power station alongside Niagara Falls.Of course, running a business in the USA, means they are subject to their Regulators, and any attempt to transfer assets from UK to USA under any kind of cover, will bring retribution with heavy fines and possible jail sentences for the officials involved in any such transfers, including any UK officials who may have ignored the regulations in force in the USA and traken part in such transfers. The USA is under a lot pressure from their president to "Use American" and he is not keen on imports of any kind. May I request someone explaining the system of converting oil from the tankers ariving in port to the finished article ready for the market in the simplest possible terms. Might you then explain the process of producing the finished article from the Shale excavations ?
