Goverment plans for this weekend seem to be in two parts. (1) Allocations, mostly domestic. Here they want to allow people who already harvest wood for themselves to re-apply, but not pensioners ! (2) Timber Sales Agreements. These seem to be to sell some rights to companies, etc who will work in particular parts of the forests and perhaps maintain that part. Crown lands and public lands will be covered in this scheme. Max.

Would post-forest fire timber be akin to charcoal ? Some of our forbears were known as charcoal burners, perhaps they knew a trick or two ? AEG might be able to organise collection of such timber from all over Canada, thereby helping to tidy up those areas if they need it, and providing employment to local collectors. Max.

I read your link where the writer changed the names to Sherlock and Watson, very interesting. I have also tried to read some of the patents you listed but have neither the patience or stamina to read all or understand the chemical symbols or reasons for some parts. I was slightly worried about your use of the phrase "workaround" which strongly suggests the patents do not cover every absolute last degree of what is being protected. When Apple and Samsung were in court about infringements they both faced heavy fines if I recall correctly. The cost of such court battles would be prohibitive to smaller companies, which calls into question the position of the Patent Issuing Office. To paraphrase " We Issue a Patent to Mr and Mrs Wilberforce to protect their invention, and you, Sir, come along and breach that Patent". "How dare You ?" Hello There. Anbang is(or was) the Chinese company that went to New York and bought one of its mostprestigrous hotels, the Waldorf Astoria, for almost 2 Billion Dollars. This apparently shook the members of the "Establishment". Sometime later, a large hotel group was negotiating with Marriott hotel group about a merger or sale, when Anbang intervened with an offer to buy the group. This seemed to put the kibosh on any merger talks and the frist group had to decide whether anbawng were serious and did they have the funds. I think there somje actions taking place which suddenly meant Anbang had to withdraw. yours, Max.

On re-reading you recent comments, I wondered whether you felt there were much or any prospects in the field of civil nuclear energy work, at home or abroad ? The machinery in place would seem to put them in line for sub-contract work, but are any countries just now looking to Nuclear Energy ? Renewable Energy seems to be a vast research area and may, in future, be the main driver in providing electricity in yet to be developed countries as well as more developed. I trying not overlook the submarine work they seem to be experts in, perhaps more naval work will follow the re-equipping at Dukinfield, when UK government realises the possibilities. Max

Falling Knife and Tonyi: News received Saturday 24th March from USA is that the Budget from now until September has been passed by Congress and signed by the president. He only signed because it allows more spending on military equipment, training, etc. A number of British firms may now find they can sell more of the essential items they produce for military purposes. Don't break your heart waiting for the tests in Utah, Rocky Mountain Power will want to satisfy themselves that they have carried out the first exhaustive testing of this new fuel, and their report is likely to be full of pros and cons. The power station is located on the outskirts of Salt Lake City, in the middle of a large coal mining area, and the new fuel will appear to be a challenge to the mining fraaternity. The Governors Energy Department were contemplating using a mixture - coal plus Coalswitch - in varying amounts. We and AEG want them to use no coal, but their electors might want things different to us ! Pacific Corp, owners of R.P.M, itself owned by Warren Buffet, would probably like the new fuel to be fully accepted. A welcome contract from a country wishing to have the best equipment in their naval vessels. Carbon Dioxide is expelled from humans as part of the natural breathing system, I understand. Please correct if I am mistaken. The price quoted for the equipment seems to be in line with previously announced contracts of this type. Are we world leaders in this field ? Surely, other nations must want similar equipment fitted in their submarines, the most precious component in the vessel must be the personnel, I assume. BBD - you mention a fatal accident, do you mean the accident in Arizona or another one ? Give more details please if you have them. As well as being told of the accident we should also be informed as to the maker of that vehicle. They need to go back to the drawing board before being allowed to put more vehicles on the road. I read there is going to be a demonstration, in this country, of autonomous heavy goods vehicles travelling in convoy! Can we be warned to stay at home that day ? Since it is many years since I ,studied the topic, I felt I should try again, and googled The above "for Simpletons", and got a better level of explanation. Hi! If we read up from Hamlettes comment of Wednesday Evening, there are two Provincial governments involved, NFL which has a port as Dr Maccers says, which might be used for exports. I think the NFL should grab at this scheme as you suggest. Alberta is the other Provincial government AEG has negotiated with and with the leaders of the Metis people who live in the Northern part of Alberta. Unfortunately, things seemed to be put on hold following a tremendous forest fire in the Southern part of the Province in the summer of 2016. The leaders of the Metis people were present at the launch of the Rocky Mountail Power start up using Coalswitch mixed with coal fines, I believe. We have been on tenterhooks waiting for the first reports from them. There is a lot at stake for many people in this work besides we folk here and the company. Max.
