Talk about government delays !!! I had my eye on a company working in a different type of energy renewal who approaced the Owners (No name - no pack drill) of an estuary in England about talks regarding some development which would have had widespread benefits for all. The talks were estimated to take three years in the preliminary stages! No dice and nothing happened.! We must find some more patience with governments, large and small, whether home grown or not. Cats Ahoy !! Glad to be of service. I was simply pleased with the reports I had been reading on the BB. Better displays than some stuffy commercial exhibition !! Our cat is black and white with a gorgeous bushy tail which saves us having to switch on the cooler when she is around waving to all and sundry. She has an opponent almost identical living across the road but with a common tail ending in a white tip. She often comes for a feed and sometimes wears a label which says "Pink" You can't help laughing. they both stay out all night and fortunately don't do much of the "Miaow" chorus, they can't read music seemingly. HH - you say you can't mould a fuel tank to suit the bodywork ! Years ago, when I was an apprentice, I saw many examples of metal fuel tanks shaped to suit the bodywork. Have we lost our ingenuity ? The pressure of 700 you quote might require the fuel tank to have a certain thickness if made of metal - what thickness I don't know. New plastics coming onto the market may well prove the answer here, if not too heavy but able to take the pressure. Fibre glass mouldings were very stong and not that heavy years ago, what do we have now ? How about adding graphene into the fibre glass, if not too costly. Please tell this ignoramus what would go under the bonnet if the was no internal combustion engine ? How many stacks of fuel cells would be installed and where ? The USA is moving ahead with regard to commercial vehicles, of all sizes. Recovering Brake Energy requires what, may I ask ? Compared to efficient fuel systems, is it worth the candle ? Yours, Mac.

You may have noticed in my last post I suggested that Atmospheric Control Systems may be required to be installed. I must hasten to mention that I have no information or knowledge of whether such equipment is usually installed in surface ships. I suppose one might envisage that such a system would be useful in emergemcy situations, particularly in lower decks where batteries and or dynamos might be placed, causing hazardous fumes if damaged. Do you recall stories of submarines in WW2 where depth-charges may cause such problems for the crew? Anyone able to offer thoughts around this hypothesis ? Yours, Max.

Two possible sources of work opened up to date, Nuclear Power station enhancement in North Wales - Nine frigates to be built in Australia to BAE design. Nuclear work may involve fabrication and machining of Titanium parts, where this metal is superior to Stainless Steel. Total contract maybe worth as much as 300 - 400 M£, depending upon requirements of Main Contractor. Titanium requires very special handling and the company has been training personnel in this field at Dukinfield. Work for the frigates could include Atmospheric Control systems as now produced at Portsmouth, with some help from Manchester. Looking good. Yours, Max.

You recently gave us information about the use of graphene in concrete, for which I, and perhaps others, are greatful. Now you shatter us with information from Sweden about the breakthrough on much improved thermal properties of single layer as opposed to multi-layer graphene platelets. Since VRS has proposed the use of "Few layer graphene platelets" and called it Naphene, surely investigations must have looked at single layer properties exhaustively. When you are monitoring prices which statistic do you use as your main criteria ? Looking at todays figures (at 6.48) we see Share = 123.5 Bid = 120 Ask = 124 from this we see Spread of 4.00 and Spread as % at 3.33. I would have said Bid should be = to 123 and spread = 1.00 Yours, Max.
