Your two notes today look at the need for certain supplies of feedstock, and assured sales of CS. In the early days of discussions with the Metis people, it was proposed that the available forest waste would ensure sufficient supplies for the Province of Alberta to move away from coal as the main fuel and take up the cs being produced within the Province. This looked Ok but in 2016 there was a tremendous forest fire which ravaged Southern Alberta. Had a scheme been in progress in these parts perhaps the fire would not have been so severe. There must be great advantages in collecting the waste for a good end purpose. Planting new saplings was part of the original plans, and still is, I believe. Sales of CS seem assured looking at Poland, Germany and perhaps Austria, as the benefits become more obvious to people. That population might approach 200 million. Add the UK (??) at 60 million. sales might need to be rationed if demand grew rapidly !! Yours, Max.

I was just surmising that all the troubles caused by a certain president in the way of tarriffs, etc, may have caused something of a slow down in the construction, engineering and like trades, in big and small firms. SDY have in the past reminded us that they are just as concerned about supplting small and local firms as large firms. It is pleasing that some of the overseas owned car firms are continuing to expand in this country. As you know, this could have a knock on effect on those companies that cater for these expansions, and I believe SDY are able to ensure that these companies are equipped with the best and latest tools, etc. They claim, and set out to prove, that they are the best and safest firm in the business of supply to such companies. Having read some of the patents listed by Nigwit in times past, it is blindingly obvious that applicants have to go through expensive and prolonged Hoop systems to satisfy the authorities. Would ANY company provide details of their inventive work if the product is likely to be toxic ? Granted there may be some products that might be dangerouis for certain patients to ingest in pharma cases, but I don't think QDs are in any way dangerous. If they are the research teams would be warning people surely, though I also understand that some of the manufacturing processes are considered somewhat hostile !! Asks the experts for guidance perhaps. You don't acknowledge that Nanoco are collaborating with UCL. Are you keeping that secret ?? You are quite right, I feel, in both your propositions. Let us look at (1) I think the first demountable plant for converting waste into CS had a 5 tonne per hour capacity. Dr Maccers asserts about 25 tonne cap is needed for large power stations. I hope he reads our comments and corrects us, if needed. I emailed a query abouit an item on one of the pictures showing flanged connections but got nowhere. This plant was put together in Utah to supply Rocky Mountain Power Station. Being demountable of course means they can move it to the best suitable place to supply large or small outfits. Situation in Poland (2) the government is very much wanting supplies for power companies AND to supply domestic customers presently, in some cases burning poor coal which does not give them the heat they want, has lots of ash, provides loads of smoke, and is derogartory to their health. The gov wants to get rid of the stuff lying about the ground and have chosen to work in Upper Silesia. Also, EURO want them to clean up their act. One of the topics you mention regarding collaboration with UCL on medical uses has been very well documented by Nanoco, including a profile of Dr Imad, lead resercher for Nanoco. What progress has been made, I am not sure, but I doubt very much the material is toxic, have you any evidence otherwise ? You go on to say that human trials may be years off, obviously you are assuming the laboratory trials will gain approval. Coalswitch, invented by AEG, was designed to replace coal in order to reduce the smoke content of the natural atmosphere. A somewhat similar scheme was introduced in the UK many years ago due to the SMOG caused by millions of domestic coal fires. That involved peole mixing coal and coke, in their hearth. Poland has recently passed Anti-Smog legislation to conform to EURO regulations and satisfy their populations concerns about poor air quality. It may well also replace diesel, as you say, but first concerns are to replace coal. This company does not make wood chips, they gave that up years ago. Your, Max.

Hello Scot again ! -- Looking at an RNS I noted that a holder elected to convert 160,000 CLN into shares. They can do this any time within five years, I understand. They were issued 1,855,105 shares in return. This equates to the holder gaining 12 shares for ONE CLN, these shares rank pari Passu with other ordinary shares. Lets try and guess what they represent. £2,600,000 x 2 buys could be someone setting up two distinct ISAs for family members. The singleton sometime later is not that rare, I think the MMs do that to test the current SP or to square up a previous odd buy or sell. Think I did the right thing, bought few shares in Active Energy since they appealled to my family and me for trying to link up with the Metis Indian people in Alberta. AEG had a new inverntion which would use forest waste as a fuel instead of coal, reducing possibility of forest fires and providing a fuel with zero emmision to provide cleaner air. Thanks for the implied warning Dr Maccers. SJ I too googled IAS 41 and there is such a lot to it - mind boggling !! I read one of the summaries available and saw that from 2016, an amendment came into force regarding Bearer Plants, and since this seems to mean trees and bushes growing produce like apples etc these plants have to be treated differently. Does this mean that the people taking over responsibility for stretches of forest will need to map, etc, those parts with Bearer Plants ? You seem to have introduced a whole new area for many investors to think about - but perhaps not worry too much about. My reading of Dr Maccers over a period of months is that he is refering to the Cabinet of NL, led by Premier Ball. I have found out, over time, that in Canada, with its thirteen provinces there is 0ne Prime Minister, but each Province is led by a Premier. Dr Maccers says that half of the cabinet members have already agreed the "Deal" and so the cabinet decision is probably already half formed. Thank you for a very thought provoking posting on Food Packaging. You mention shelf life may be in supermakets, I was trying to think what items that would include. Bread, whether sliced or not, butter and similar products, meat in all forms, milk and cream. Perhaps the industry should re-think some of their wrapping schemes. Butter seems to be wrapped like it was when I was a child shopping for my mother. A single sheet of tissue placed on a scale and a piece of butter cut from the butter mound on the counter then carefully weighed, put a bit on - take a bit off till just right. then wrap butter in the tissue for mum to unwrap and get buttery fimgers. Has any progress really been made in this modern age ? Yours, Max.
