How I would like to be able spell out the dangers of Cadmium, Troublesome said lately it is TEN (10) times more toxic than Mercury or Lead. Having once been a person with Lead Poisoning in industry, I survuived, I think, I would hate to suffer any contamination from Cadmium. Isn't it easy for companies to deny any dangers from whatever, they have done this down the ages. All set up to make a fast buck from somebody elses efforts. --- Yours, Max.

Colleagues, forgive me, but you are slightly missing a very important part of the forestry work. Not only would the forestry waste be collected for processing, its value at the moment being nil, BUT removing the waste safely will remove the threat of great forest fires, an ever present threat in the hot summers there. The forestry people in the State of Utah were astonished when they saw the set up and how the forest would flourish with the waste material removed. They had piles of the stuff and didn't know what to do with it, furthermore the waste tended to harm the soil on which it was heaped. When October 2019 arrives with the ban in Europe, will it mean there will be ABSOLUTELY no exemption from the ban on Cadmium ? Perhaps you know the answer, please explain if there are any exemptions to the ban. I hope for the sake of humanity it will be a complete ban which might spread throughout the world. The disposal of Shaw sheet metal in Oldham acually cost the firm, they paid about £750k for it in february three years ago and sold it for £300k in a management buy out. Perhaps the three years helped to provide work for Dukinfield in those early days. Of course the Engineering team of John Constable and colleagues may feel Dukinfield is the place to enhance, they certainly spent a lot on modern machines. My view is that the Admiralty would have requested a contract be made for submarine work to be done. Why else would we have an Admiralty if they didn'l look after the fleet ? I don't know anyone at the Admiralty but do know they have representatives on the Joint Force Command. So, would not the MOD expect to have suggestions coming from the Joint Force Command from time to time ? The ship was repaired later and served in the fight against Japan in the Pacific, where it was sunk.
