Thanks for your note about Director deals. What about the situation of the Chief Executive Officer who may veru well be a director but may sign a deal on behalf of a company. ? I know they often make a statement welcoming a deal and how this is going to aid expansion, etc. etc..As an executive and employee and director they must be in a certain protected position, would you say ? Just re-read the rns in which it is reported that the two aims were to raise approximately £1.2M to manage a 10 fold expansion in capacity and working capital. In the event, demand for shares on the day was so strong, that after discussion with Adviser, W. H. Ireland, they decided to provide shares for all requests. This brought in over £2.9M. Perhaps the company is trying to work out how much to spend on machinery and possible factory expansion. More news should follow in due course as to what options they took. Since then, some interesting appointments have been made to the Management team, perhaps they will have a good input to the "What to do with all this money" Quest. You may have noticed I referred to "recent success in Paris". That was an agreement to provide systems to a collective of forty (40) hospitals in the Paris Region. A surprising, to me, number of hospitals. At the time I commented that perhaps that agreement would lead to more in the large cities of France and perhaps their neighbours. Maybe other places are watching the results obtained in Paris before exploring the system for themselves. My wife and I joined this company years ago because we liked what we read about their products and successes in the USA market. Very disappointed there is virtually no market in UK, despite recent success in Paris. Austerity in UK seems very hit and miss. In the link provided by Eskers there was an article regarding Epistar having won a court case safeguarding seven Issued Patents, infringed by another company. The settlement is that the other company will not sell now or in the future any of the products complained of. Note the use of the phrase "Issued Patents". I rather suspect the movement overnight, to which you refer, is largely due to the USA and Mexico annoucing an agreement on trade. This seems to mark a shift for Trump. Nearly all USA indexes finished well up on the day. ------- Yours, Max.

The well known TV character "Del Boy" apparently made a living off "moving goods" to people who didn't want them, but needed to buy them. My daughter had to learn to be more circumspect when she lost her job for a while, and relied on benefits which at that time were "Giros" sent through the post. She lived in a house with about four small flats, and went out very early one morning for job - Look Up training. On returning the post, including her Giro was in the purse of another woman, who cashed it and spent it with no explanation whatever. I did some simple calculations on the actual closing Friday 24th August 2018 as shown on Morningstar. I have included the % change as calculated as well. The results are as follows:-

I too am a remainer, perhaps because of my age, I wanted some settlement that would avert the terrible wars that Europe has endured in its recent past. One century ago, though we didn't know it the first world war was drawing to a close. This was followed by a most devastating disease, Influenza, across much of Europe, and helped to take away even more of the poeple needed to revive the continent. The Versailles Treaty, led by the USA President proved a disaster for many poeple. The Kurds lost their country, Mesopotamia disappeared, almost unbelievable sanctions were imposed on Germany, causing massive starvation and worthless currency. The League of Nations that was set up was toothless, and the world continued to have wars over possessions such as italy Annexing Albania, then Abyssinia, and nobody objecting, it seems. The well predicted rise of Hitler and his threats to all mankind was allowed to progress. Germany was allotted the Olympic Games in 1936 and Hitler hated Jesse Owen, the American Sprinter. And the English football team raised their arms in the Nazi Salute before their game. Everybody ws scared of the nazis. Thankfully they lost after a tremendous struggle. General de Gaulle bravely and contraversially helped to set tup he European Market, to which we were denied admittance ! Something had to take hold and we managed to join under Ted Heath. Your very valuable experience in industry regarding machines being safeguarded from unwanted vibrations, is very welcome. I have worked where very heavy vibrations were set up but in places where they were not affecting sensitive machines. I took a class of my students to look round the Ford factory at Speke, Liverpool some years ago and they had enormous presses working in line to produce car bodies etc. but I don't think they had sensitive machinery installed in that main press shop.
