So what is the relationship between the US and UK shares? The dividends are the same (for one share). There was RNS stating the current exchange rate. I think the ADS are different because there's not much trade or demand.

Anyone know why the US sp of $18.50 doesn't equate to ours of £12.65?

That gives exchange rate of 1.46 - a lot higher than 2 weeks ago!!

But by my calcs they could be losing over $3bn per quarter while no ships are sailing. So recovery could take several years.

Which broker? Where did you see the information?

The key for me will be 2nd Q. I have estimated there could be a $3bn loss, making the 1st Q loss look tiny. Mcap is currently around $7bn so any fund raise to alleviate the loss would have to be very dilutive to current holders. We're talking about $4-5 loss per share. There's a good reason why the SP is languishing.

Just been looking at p&o website about FCC. They are offering 125% of money paid as credit towards future a future cruise. Will this mean full ships when they get going again? Cunard are dong the same, and Princess is a lot more generous.
At least if a majority take up the FCC, they will not be giving immediate refunds, and can float along (just about) until the industry recovers. Perhaps £8 is a good bargain.

But why should they bail out the shareholders? Why not issue a convertible loan or the like? Save the business and perhaps cash in in a few years time?

I reckon they are going to lose $1.1b each month the ships are not operating. Where is this coming from. I can see a rights issue coming or worse. The SP will not recover to anything like £30 for a very long time.

If all fleet followed suit. Carnival would loose $3bn revenue in 2 months. Yes, this would be offset in part by operating cost reductions, but the net income for the whole year is only $3bn.

Valirx will be able to issue shares worth up to the current Mcap.
How long do you think c£750k would last? Then the next authority would be needed to issue more shares. It is a very temporary solution.

Lots of detail about 737 in the 10-k, but I couldn't see much new.

No room to issue any more shares without a GM. Authority all used up.

On the other hand if the virus has spread to most places, cruise ships and cruise destinations then become reasonably neutral places.
So the downside may be limited now.
