PS. Thomas Cook are not chartering this Thomson flight. They have obviously bought the seats on it from Thomsons. The point I was making is that because they are now buying the seats from a third party ( who just happen to be their main competitor) , instead of using their own flight , the price has substantially increased , which will only drive customers to the cheaper option!! The cheaper option being Thomsons who provide their own flight seats!!

Hi Thomson thanks for your reply. For the previous three years 2013 , 2014 , 2015 we have been to the Binlik hotel in Dalyan for a two week holiday. Each time from Doncaster. Each time with Thomas Cook. On these three years Thomas Cook used Turkish airlines. The last one being Pegasus. Earlier this year when we were pricing the same holiday with Thomas Cook again from Doncaster , they were advertising it using a THOMAS COOK FLIGHT!! They are now adverting the holiday using a THOMSON FLIGHT!! I therefore have to correct you on your observation.

PS. The holiday from Doncaster in September , when I checked earlier in the year included TCs own flight. It now is using Thomsons flight with transfers and hold luggage as extras.

Hi Thomson. The destination is Dalaman in Turkey and the holiday resort is Dalyan and the hotel is the Binlik Hotel.

Earlier this year I priced a Thomas Cook full package holiday from Doncaster airport in September using Thomas Cooks own flights. The price was between £500--£600 per person. I have just priced the same holiday with Thomas Cook but with their Flexitrips where they use Thomsons airline ( TCs own flight is now not available ). The price is between £900--£1000 per person. I think this shows just how vital it is for Thomas Cook to have its own fleet of aircraft and thus total control of its own passenger seats!!! Its a no brainer!!! It is to me anyway.

Once again the CEO of TUI gives an eloquent update brimming with confidence and upbeatness ( not sure if that's a word but it describes TUI well ). They are miles ahead of TCG in the reporting department. Come on Frank get a grip and listen and learn from your successful peers!!

I understand the basic principle of SHORTING but where do SHORTERS actually “ borrow " their shares from which they then short? Surely it must cost them something to “ borrow " these shares? Could anyone please explain it to me? Thanks

If the fleet of aircraft is sold it will be a huge mistake!! It makes no sense whatsoever!! Absolute stupidity!! TCG customers expect a full TCG experience , a full TCG package. Thats what TCG has always been about , its the foundation the Thomas Cook brand was built on. Otherwise they may as well just book with any one of the other numerous outfits that put together packages. A very sad decline if it happens!!!!!

I don't know why the sudden Fosun takeover talk on these posts? I think this is just misguided optimism. If there was any reality in a Fosun takeover , the SP would be significantly higher by now. Sorry to dampen any enthusiasm but I am a realist not a dreamer although sometimes it does make you feel good when you have a nice dream.

Tui up 74% of one TCG share now Harry. I think thats down to excellent wordmanship ( if thats a real word! ) from the Tui board ( AS ALWAYS! ,). As regards Fosun I think this is now a damp squib.

Don't think Thomson has quite got the drift of Harry's post!! Harry makes complete sense but I very much doubt TCG would even consider consolidation at this time.
