The update was just too subdued for some reason. Not a market confidence builder at all. Maybe things aren't going quite as well as what we thought!!

Hi Olli, can you elaborate on your reasons for stating this please as I have not heard anything on the grapevine!

The Chinese banking regulator is asking banks to provide information on their loan exposure to large Chinese companies including Fosun ( after heavy unprecedented overseas investments ) to determine any financial risks involved , resulting in Fosuns value falling around 6%. I believe Fosun have now become an irrelevance to TCs future and that it is just a profit making investment on their side that has failed to materialise.

Who hollds your share certificates? Halifax Share Dealing hold mine ( I do my trades through them) and they automatically pay the dividend into my nominated account. If you hold them yourself you will have to get in touch with Thomas Cook and organise it with them.

Generally not bad I suppose but a bit worrying regards the 7% increase in pre tax loss compared to the same period last year. I would have thought that if management had got their stratagies right then the loss should be decreasing by now. Let's see what the market reaction is by the end of tomorrow which will then give us a good indicator of where the SP is going over the next few months.

Its a bit of an enigma as regards Fosun. Are they just investing or are they preparing a takeover? There are bigger percentage investors of TCG so if they are planning a takeover , wouldn't they build up their holding quicker than what they are doing? Or are they just purely investing in TCG knowing that they have some input with their tie up , and thus in theory could increase the SP with that input? An increase in the SP ( to some extent ) being in their own hands so to speak , which would in turn increase their profits? I personally think it's probably the latter and that they are not in the market for a takeover. Obviously only my own perspective.

Hi GS I really , really hope that I am wrong ( and made to eat my words ) and that the SP on Thurs takes a sudden bounce upwards. Woudnt it be nice if that happened and gave all of us a reminder of what TCs SP has done in the past when it got up to around £3.00 in a quite short period of time on more than one occasion. Ah , the good old days! I have to say though that I do feel quietly confident that £2.00 is definitely achievable over the next 18 months or so. Don't ask me to justify that statement , it's just a positive gut feeling that I now have , which I haven't had for quite a while. I do hold quite a few ( unfortunately not 12p or 15 p ) and have been in ever since the tie up with My Travel and am nearing my average and I will keep in there until £2.50 -- £3.00 is again achieved. I honestly think it will be there in the next 3 or 4 years especially as the divi goes up. Anyway sorry to spout on but I am a believer!!

Well Tui,s news wasn't that bad and there down 4--5% on the day , TC down 3--4% on the back of it. Expect TCs news on Thursday to be of a similar thread but expect TC to be down again by 3--5% on that day. Obviously only my opinion but TCs SP is so erratically predictable as regards their updates.

I suspect it is the upward movement on the pound. Tui have also gone up , not by as much but we all know TCs movements are always more exaggerated

Fully expected a drop today after yesterday's terrible events in London but they have gone up instead. So unpredictable. Just can't weigh it up.

And as usual TC are the biggest faller!

No disrespect intended but having read your posts for Tcg and other companies , you just do not make any sense!! We all know Tcg has been a cash cow for short term , quick regular profits for a long time now. There is nothing new about this.This I think will be the case until Tcg gets back into the 200+. Sure there is going to be the sudden minus 10% drops now and again , it is Tcg after all but they will work their way up, I am confident in that.

Ps. Maybe just the chips to be on the safe side. Not sure it will stretch to the half!

As long as it's only a bag of chips and half a pint!
