This level of drop is obviously caused by something specific to Tcg as it is not across the board but no idea what has caused it.

Trump has caused this. His decision to hit China with tariffs on $200 billion dollars worth of Chinese imports is massively increasing the escalating trade war between the two countries. Asian markets dropped on it this morning and our markets inevitively follow.

According to some economic analysts , the jitteryness in the markets is due to the escalating trade war between the USA and China ( Trump threatening to massively increase tarriffs against Chinese goods ) with one analyst saying it could lead to recession.

I hope you didn't buy!! 100 could be on the cards soon. Onthebeach would be a better bet. Tui up , Otb up but of course Tcg down----as usua!!!

According to what I have read , yesterday's drops across the markets was due to the threat of a large scale trade war.

This site is missing Fridays sp data for TC and is not showing today's correct sp drop.. The actual drop as of 16.23 is 6.1p (5.32%)

Harryhorsewick. I've been asking myself that question for a while now. You are absolutely right in your assessment of TC. I have been repeatedly taken in by the sudden surges in the sp leading me to false expectations of future growth but then only to see the sudden drops. As soon as the opportunity arises again on a surge up ( if it arises ) to give me a decent return then I will be out. I've now lost my faith in TCs ability to permanently get out of this hole that their in. I did ponder along the way whether to cash in and buy onthebeach when they were around the £2 mark but regretfully decided not to. Hindsight is a wonderful thing isn't it! But that is share dealing for you. You buy and you take your chances.

Yes you can say that again , WORRYING TRENDS from TC. You may of read my previous post regarding our flights with TC to Dalaman and back. We have since been paid £700 by TC for the delay. We have today been in touch with friends of ours who ( like us ) flew from Manchester to Dalaman and return with TC and who themselves have just been paid £350 each for flight delay. Their return flight from Dalaman to Manchester was 5 hours late in departing , the reason given by TC being that the aircraft had to be REFUELLED!! That is all they were told!! About an hour into the return flight the flight crew announced that the flight would have to land at Stanstead and not Manchester because the flight crews working hours limit would not cover the extra distance to Manchester. They were told that coaches would be at Stanstead to transport them to Manchester. On arrival at Stanstead there was only one member of TC staff and chaos ensued. There were in fact no coaches but TC had organised 70 taxis for transport to Manchester. Yes a very worrying trend that is becoming more and more regular and all the money being lost in compensation and logistics coming out of TC profits. What a farcical company TC is becoming!! There is no wonder true investors are not interested in TC.

Yes TC have this arrangement in place to increase capacity which makes good business sense. This is OK if the flight you book is the flight you get but when TC substitute a TC flight with an Easyjet flight with totally different flight times at the detriment to the traveller then that is not acceptable and bad business sense. I think that is the point Monet208 is making.

No never had Tui shares. I have had Tcg shares for a long time , ever since they tied up with My Travel and i have topped up at various points along the way. Just making a constructive observational comparison between the two companies

Tui are definitely the favoured choice for investors at the moment. Still think that massive Tcg debt is a big issue for prospective investors.

Not sure why you think it's only TC this happens to. That's a bit naive to say the least. All airlines suffer from delays to varying degrees for varying reasons. When it happens though it's very annoying and frustrating if your the one it affects.

Yes I'm confident they will have a good maintainable surge at some point, it's just taking longer than i expected. The surge in fuel pricing dosnt help in the short to medium term though.

Over the last three year period Tui have increased around 50% and Tcg have decreased around 18%

Wow 8 hours. 6 was bad enough. Isn't it horrible being confined in an airport just waiting and wanting to be off. What do you think of my cynicalism as regards thinking whether they are not being honest and the real reason for the delay was rescheduling by the companies to fit in more flights and taking the compensation hit for their own ends. I'm probably being too suspicious.

Sorry small typo in previous post. EU compensation should state ( �350 , �400 ) and not ( �350 , �400 ). Farruggia1967 ---- I don't think TC communications will have to read it , as they will be hearing from numerous irate passengers rather quickly I think and I hope they learn a lesson from it!,

Yes the hotel was absolutely fine and we had a great holiday. It was just the flight there and flight back ( the bit that TC were in direct control of ). As I said the problem both ways was broken down aircraft ( according to TC staff when we were eventually told ). I know any type of aircraft can break down but for it to happen both ways is unusual. And if they are breaking down could it mean overworked/overstretched/under maintained aircraft? Some cynical passengers ( and I must admit including me ) wondered whether it wasTC themselves re--scheduling aircraft to fit in more flights and thus for their own ends. The aircraft from Manchester to Dalaman was not actually seen by us until shortly before boarding!! Surely if it had landed at Manchester it would have dropped previous passengers off at the gate and would be repaired there? Maybe I am being too cynical but aircraft are normally on tight schedules and arrive at airports normally between 1 and 2 hours before departure time to allow for re-servicing at the gate. What is also worrying is that TC are now liable to pay all passengers compensation as per the EU directive which is ( �350 , �400 ). Yes thats a nice ammount to get back but i would have prefered to have gone on time which is why we booked an early flight time and payed more for that privilege. We have applied for this compensation on TCs site where there is a section to do so. Then there is all the other costs to TC---payments to passengers for refreshments which they paid and transport for passengers going back to East Midlands etc and I'm sure numerous other claims will be submitted by many , many irate passengers. That's a lot of money out of TCs profits. How many of those situations can they afford to have?
