Presumably the NAVs and hence prices of the funds into which they will be allocated will get a boost in the next few days and may be worth an investment in the short term.

Can someone put me out of my misery and tell me what it stands for.

I’m well ahead of my 6.3p average now which become a 6.1p average next Tuesday.

My guess, Chartarex, for what it’s worth is that there’ll be a short term hit to the share price while a few people cash in with a 10-20% profit on their subscription. There’ll be plenty of takers though because I suspect there’s quite a few people like yourself ready to top up in the event of a fall. After a few days of volatility it will recommence its inexorable rise upwards as more and more institutional investors latch on to the potential for growth.

Just my guess though and I’m usually wrong.

I suspect there’ll be a huge opportunity to make a short term killing on 1 October. Wish I knew which direction it will go.

It was stated in the RNS on 13 Sep with the results of the retail issue.

“the Company will therefore issue and allot a total of 140,725,613 New Ordinary Shares to satisfy the Retail Offer ("Retail Offer Shares") with allocation preference being given to the existing shareholders of the Company.”

Seems such a well constructed deal that the main players (NEM, Wyloo and the new IIs) won’t rock the boat with an attempt to buy it all. At least not for a few years. And together they hold a big enough stake to put off anyone else from doing it.

Topped up myself first thing. Average down to 6.1p for me.

Good post Schlemiel, and with two investors with intimate knowledge of the operation holding nearly 30% of the company who will be fully aware of its intrinsic value, it should be a good bulwark against opportunist speculators trying to buy the company on the cheap.

Bought these a few years ago for under 10p so very happy with the current SP, however it appears we’re dependent on the whims of one of Musk’s companies and I wouldn’t trust him as far as I could throw him. Probably going to bail out unless there’s a good reason to stick around.

The author of the article wrote another piece about a company I have been looking at closely and he was so wide of the mark I wouldn’t take his opinion seriously about anything. As a small scale LTH in RR since the 1980s I won’t be selling anytime soon. Had the good fortune of topping up at 63p about 3 years ago. Interested in any dividend predictions as I understand there will be one this year.

I would probably call it an equity swap I guess Spade. Broadly speaking the money has paid for the stockpile and infrastructure and the 20% equity in GGP paid for the mines. NEM obviously realise that it will be worth many multiples of the 4.8p SP in the not too distant future (It’s already up 12.5%).

If NEM had just given it for nothing Spadesaspade I’d be worried. The deals great for them as well as they will have a 20% share in a company that is fully focussed on maximising the potential of an asset that was at the bottom of their priority list. They realise they will make more money out of it as a passenger than as the driver. It’s a great deal for everyone.

Having listened to the interview and having spent more time looking at the presentation I’m more confident my investment is sound. I can understand the logic of the 4.8p issue as a means of guaranteeing good returns for the IIs and NEM to secure their investment. As investors become more familiar with the deal, the SP is going just one way. Can see it getting into double figures in the short term with a steady rise once the ore starts being processed. Regular updates about potential optimisations should help boost it also.

The deal was always going to be about balancing the prospects of growth with the volatility of the shares, and about giving NEM enough whilst keeping the overall price manageable. A smaller discount in the offer would doubtless have pushed up the price of the company because NEM would have wanted the same overall share which would have cost more and increased the amount needed from Wyloo. The IIs were always going to take precedence in the deal. One option for PIs is to purchase units or ETF shares in the funds that will have a stake in GGP from October.
