I’d like to thank the shorters for giving me the opportunity to make a significant top up for under 30p per share. Onwards and upwards!

Looks like I’m now a shareholder in this company following the final distribution following the liquidation of Starvest. What’s the chance that my twenty six quid’s worth of shares will increase or should I just sell them and buy a few beers with the proceeds.

Shares in Ariana Resources have appeared in my portfolio which presumably is the final settlement in the winding up of Starvest. Not sure why they bothered for a value not much more than a small round of drinks!

Not sure that bringing big banks to their knees is a great idea as it would probably cause a worldwide recession and rioting when people can’t access their money. Will be happy with the POG skyrocketing without a run on many large banks.

I am aware of that MasterRSI. It’s easy to understand why there would be buyers at 14.2p but why would there be sellers happy enough to trade at 14.2p when a minute earlier they were 3.5% higher. Looks like the buyers and sellers were working together for some reason. The question is why. I’m not going to worry about it because these shenanigans will be a lot more difficult in a month.

Of course inflation isn’t at 10%-20%.

I don’t think some people understand the concept that once it goes up, without deflation it’s not coming down. The major period of inflation was post Covid/Brexit and thanks to Truss. The last couple of years have seen normal levels of inflation but no deflation except in specific sectors, and the price of food in restaurants isn’t one of them.

Can someone explain why the last ordinary trade a few seconds before close was at 14.718p and why there was a UT sale for £1m at 14.2p five minutes later followed by a load more sales. Seems like a huge jump. I honestly don’t get it.

Today’s close is 14.2p on II, down from 14.718p a few seconds earlier!!

The May RNS was after the April presentation Napthman and it doesn’t actually contradict the presentation, it just narrows it down to October-December.

Newmont are not making an exit BeContratian.

They are retaining half of their stake meaning they’ll still be the largest shareholder.

Judging by how Shaun’s plan has come together I would imagine this was the plan on day 1 to divest at this point. They have already almost tripled the value of their stake and as others have said they’re not an investment company they’re a miner so it’s likely they’ve got plans for the cash to fund further developments.

As a shareholder in ITM, I will also be looking out for Mr Burns next Saturday.

I was under the impression that Newmont were tied in for at least year so any sell off in their stake must be with the agreement of GGP. As the value of their stake has almost trebled since their 4.8p shares were issued I suspect they are happy to use the cash elsewhere in their business on developing their core assets.

The options were at 6.64p not 11.9p.

Obviously it was beneficial to the BOD that the share price was taking a temporary dip and if it was more than just a coincidence I can’t get too worked up about it.

It’s quite complicated but it makes sense from a director and a company viewpoint.

Rather than having the option to buy say 1 million shares using £66400 of their own money, they were bought out for £66400. They were obliged to spend half that on newly issued shares at the prevailing SP which was 11.87p so they ended up with just over a quarter of the shares they would have had if they exercised their options.

Their final position at the end of that day would have been around 280000 new shares plus £33200 in cash.

The alternative final position if they didn’t do the surrender deal but taken the option would have been 1000000 shares and £66400 of their own money spent.

Overall in this example the directors would have been £14000 better off taking the surrender deal although with far less exposure to the market. They could of course spend that money along with the money they would have spent on options to increase their position but they would be buying shares on the open market thereby having no dilution effect.

The benefit for the company and for shareholders like us is that the dilution is much less as only just over of a quarter of the originally planned option shares needed to be issued.

For those that don’t know, these share purchases are part of the the share option surrender deal where the directors were obliged to purchase newly issued shares to the value of half the payout of the options buyout. Luckily (or was just luck?) for them it coincided with the shares nearing a short term low so they ended up with more shares than they would have if the SP was at the level of a week earlier.

Calling it corrupt is a bit over the top.

The weakness of AIM regulation allows a level of manipulation to happen and this has been taken advantage of imo.

Hopefully compliance with ASX regulations will limit these sorts of shenanigans.
