I don't think it has anything to do with potential news. If news is going to be released pre-market then it will happen at 7am as has always been the case. If it's intra-day then nobody can "protect" themselves from it (unless they have inside information which is of course illegal).

IMO it is just the market finding itself at the beginning of the day. Sellers obviously want the highest price so the ask starts high. Buyers want to pay the least so the bid starts low. The spread closes as more trading happens.

I can't remember exactly where I read this but the advice was not to buy in the first 10-15 minutes of the trading day as you are likely to pay a higher price than you would once the spread has settled. This isn't just for RKH of course...

Of course if there is a 7am RNS then that advice goes out the window!

LTT - I don't see it as perplexing at all. I think it's the rest of the market waking up to what is happening at RKH.

I would think that someone such as yourself that has been so pro RKH over the years would see this as obvious, but maybe you are having some self doubt?

Nothing that happens in Argentina has any bearing on RKH now. Navitas is the operator and because they are Israeli means the whole Argentina-UK issue goes out the window.

There will always be some murmurs from Argentina, but they have no international legal claim over the Falklands and never will. It's all internal political fodder they use against each other to gain votes.

A close above 42p would be fantastic.

Decent volume again already today (1.5m in 1.5hrs) and a nice early rise. Let's hope it sustains it better today.

Decent volume - over 4m in half a days trading. Not ground breaking but better than last week.

I'd like to think that RKH are old enough to not require a bib.

We have some volume back today and it's looking positive for another break of 40.

Nastynick - Your confusing the insurers with the specialist fund that essentially bought the award from us.

The insurance as I understand it is in fact binary - if RKH lose they will lose £27m as stated by BlooBird. If RKH win they make the £4m paid by RKH. They think it is pretty much a sure thing.

This is an insane suggestion OscarIndiaLima - Unless RKH actually needs the funds for development, this would be intentional dilution for no reason.

The BOD wouldn't do this to themselves let alone the rest of the shareholders.

Great to have more positive reinforcement from our partner Navitas - But it's not new information. We have known they are solid for the last year at-least and it's why the SP has started to build as word spreads and the general market comes to it's senses about what is happening here.

It's fair to have different strategies and everyone needs to take money off the table when it is right for them - but the next 3-36 months is the biggest there has ever been for Rockhopper and my opinion is that those that hold will be richly rewarded.

I guess it depends on what your idea of early is? If anything before the end of Q2 is early then yes sure, but if you mean early as in this month then no chance.

They have already said Shenandoah needs to be pumping oil before FID, that's the piece of news to keep an eye on as once that happens FID should be imminent IMO.

For me, this is still just stake building. We are massively undervalued.
