Nurses and doctors are due to go on strike after rejecting a pay cut. A long with bus drivers, train drivers, barristers, and anyone else with industrial unions.

Prices have been going up for a few years now, this could have been nipped in the bud. We have naked profiteering from companies that are taking advantage of Brexit and Ukraine to hike costs and place the burden on the consumer, while energy companies are making literal record-breaking amounts of money.

It's ALL being made on the back of a lower-to-middle class demographic who are completely ignored by the government. It's yet again another transfer of wealth from the poor to the rich and the Tories couldn't care less.

It's damaging the economy, it's damaging our prospects of investment, it's degrading the social contract between the people and government. And it's being allowed to happen so a small number of obscenely rich people and corporations, can get even more obscenely rich.

Gate, all I've asked today is for you to talk facts. The thread is about income tax cuts proposed by the current Tory hopefuls, tax cuts which you defend as benefitting everyone.

I posted various links showing why income tax cuts only benefit the wealthy and you have done nothing to debate that at all. I am not attacking you as a person, I am attacking the statements you make in the hope that you might meet me in honest debate.

So far today you have called me a communist, attacked me for a simple spelling error, suggested I wasn't talking about the "right taxes" and done everything you can to avoid actually debating the topic of discussion in the thread. It's just sheer ignorence and cowardice.

It's extremely f*cking easy to attack someone rather than defend a position, but I am asking you kindly to defend yours, rather than constantly defer to personal insults against me, which really only serve to debase any attempt at honest debate.

Why are the far-right trolls on here so obsessed with Scotland? It's bewildering.

You seem to have nothing but disdain for Scottish people and the party we have democratically elected to lead our country, but seem absolutely insistent that we stay glued to a country that seemingly hates us.

It's doubly bewildering that the exact crowd who wanted independence from the EU to determine "our own British laws" seem to utterly seeth at the idea that the Scottish people may wish to go their own way from Britain.

Of course this same crowd won't even acknowledge Britain and will frame it as an England VS Scotland debate, completely ignoring the fact that the UK isn't just England, it's NI and Wales too. But they seem entirely comfortable to speak for both of those countries don't they - just like they seem entirely comfortable to speak for the people of Scotland.

If you can't understand why Scotland wants independence from the UK, look no further than the entitled, arrogant, hypocritical comments from the the English Brexit crowd that seem to dominate this forum.

Scotland is a left leaning, liberal country. We couldn't be further away from the current nasty strain of far-right populism that is infecting English politics.

We don't vote Tory, but have been governed by them for decades. We voted overwhelmingly to remain in the EU, but have been removed from that family against the will of our people.

We aren't respected, we aren't represented. It is an abusive marriage based on laws created hundreds of years ago. Our nation's have all veered too far apart and until the English electorate move away from far-right populism, Scotland (and Wales tbh) will drift further and further away.

The separation of the United Kingdom when it inevitably comes, will come not at the hands of the Scottish people, but at the hands of the Tories.
