Genuinely, the fact you've accused me of being at least 4 different posters over the last year makes me think you are either paranoid or doing that very thing yourself.

American tech stocks, particularly in the social media realm have been overpriced for ages. Even with Meta down 72% it's market cap is still 10x that of Lloyds. Absolute madness.

Twitter, Snap and any other social media company that doesn't diversify into other markets is gonna be worthless in a decade.

This "plan" will go much the same way as Moggs idiotic plan to take us back to imperial measurements.

Millions of taxpayer pounds will get spent on "research" by brand new limited company whose sole employee happens to be a mate of someone in the Tory party and then we'll never hear about it again.

It's a completely pointless endeavour that does nothing, but enrich a few Eton oldboys. So..basically a metaphor for last 12 years.

Money has been digital for years already. No one pays in cash anymore. What exactly is this meant to achieve other than centralising finance even more, which is exactly the opposite goal of cryptocurrency.

Because people need houses to live in, people can't live in pension pots.

There is an acute housing shortage in this country, no where near enough is being built. People that buy-to-let take housing stock from the market for personal profit. Many communities, particularly in destination areas such as cities or coastal towns, have a huge proportion of properties that are empty most of the year as they are bought up to rent out on AirBnB - as AirBnB properties are far more profitable than traditional renting.

This means that property prices in these areas increase as there is not enough supply to fulfill demand. This pushes people put of the community, often the community they grew up in, as it becomes unaffordable to buy or rent.

If you happen to live in rural areas you might not be aware of these issues, but they are fairly prevalent up and down the country and a lot of it has to do with buy-to-let schemes.

Buying property is an investment, investments carry risk and can go up or down. If they are struggling so terribly, they should perhaps sell one of the eight properties on the market and contribute a little to the severe lack of housing stock in this country.

I understand landlords need to exist to a degree, some people DO indeed want to rent. But the vast majority of landlords in this country aren't doing it out of altruism, they are doing it to make money at the expense of others. And every property they buy up is one less on the market for someone that wants to stop renting.

Buy to let is a huge problem in this country and my sympathies lie much more with renters than the wealthy landlords.

Imagine having 8 properties and crying because someone won't pay rent. The absolute gall of some people.

Bit harsh to call people "idiots" for paying "grossly inflated rent" when they have no alternative.

People rent for the most part because they can't afford to get on the property ladder, most people do not want to rent. But if there are no regulations or rent controls of course greedy landlords are going to squeeze as much as they can.

Either way, blaming renters for things out of their control, especially things that disproportionately affect their lives for the worse, seems a bit tactless.

A non-functioning government is a non-functioning government. It doesn't matter who is in power. If they are unable to govern, then they need to give the reigns of power to someone that can.

As it stands, we've had the last two PMs resign in disgrace, we have a Tory party in open civil war, we have numerous crisis' that are impacting every single facet of society.

If you believed in democracy, you would understand that a general election is not only the will of the people, it is also a moral imperative.

The clear fact is that you do not wish for one, not because you think it's not in the interest of the country, but because you know the Tories would get wiped out.

You are literally putting your party ahead of the interests of the country.

If the overwhelming majority of the people in a country do not support the party in power, and that party has had two leaders resign in as many months, then what does that say about the Tory views on democracy?

You bang on and on about Brexit being the democratic will of the people, well the democratic will of the people right now is a general election. A tiny number of Tory party members selecting leader after leader is no democracy.

If the GE was tomorrow and current polling was accurate, Labour would win in such an astronomical landslide that there is a high chance the SNP would be the opposition.
