RE: Another Brexit Bonus18 Nov 2022 17:11
How does scrapping regulations lead to investment in the technology sector? How is it easier for businesses to operate in the UK when we have cut ourselves off from the single market? They do not operate in isolation. Consistent regulation across all the countries in the EU makes it easier for businesses to operate across borders. Brexit causes more red-tape, it doesn't cut it. And cutting regulation tends to just lead to cowboy practices like dumping raw-sewage into our seas and rivers. Regulations are hard won, rolling them back is not a key to success, it is a road to ruin.
The technology sector is also a highly specialized field that relies on attracting talent from around the globe. Silicon Valley attracts talent from every corner of the planet, whereas we have shut our doors to workers from Europe and the world. Why would you chose to work here when you can work in Europe and have access to the single market? Why would people want to come to a country that doesn't want them? We have bled talent to the continent since the vote to leave.
