The value here is in the claims(s). The crypto crew are noticeable by their absence . I think the rapid rise on the back of the Bitcoin hyoe opened up a few options for FG that he didn’t anticipate having . It will be interesting to see his next move .

About a million did go through...but not mine. Changed it to 1.1 now.

No I haven't. Have a buy order in for substantially more at 1.2 and a sell order for the 50k at 1.5

Eufingest has 3.4+m in a new bond (converted debt) that they have the right to convert at any time at 1p. That would possibly have the reverse effect than that which RKB describes below. However they already have 13% ( a bit less after this placing unless they were part of it) and if they converted all of that bond that would be equivalent to 50% of all the shares currently in issue , although they would hold less than 50% of all shares after such a conversion - but not by much.

Time will tell, but I think the emphasis on gas in SHELLs latest strategy tempted me back in whilst the price remains low. Of course there is no guarantee but I think if they weren’t going to drill we would know by now.

Yes I have bought back in and added another 293767 @1.7 on Friday. I believe SHELL will be giving more detail on their gas strategy on 25th Feb so maybe next week is a bit premature for an announcement.

I feel the next few weeks will build momentum with the share price here as the SHELL drill decision becomes imminent. I wouldn't bet against something landing early next week. If they are going to do it there's not much reason to wait now that theirlonger term strategy has been revealed (RDSA) which focuses on GAS and existing infrastructure in the medium term.

Steve888: I hope you remain in a good place. I was happy to have traded back to all square then a bit above. Of course it grates to have missed this one, which has blindsided quite a few people, perhaps even the company itself. It is interesting to hear RKBs cryptic musings on the bond holders. It will be interesting to see what eufingest do, let alone the 'mystery' holders of the other bonds. I would guess there are a lot of calculations going on on all sides to work out the relative merits of conversion and where the sweet spot is with the share price is for the big boys.

Pointscorer: The current unit has been in Serbia a long time (originally deployed there for the cheap electricity). It has been under 'care and maintenance " for a couple of years. There was a suggestion of mismanagement and unpaid electricity bills, although the company maintained they stopped mining because it was uneconomic...although obviously if they had continued what they would have mined in 2 years would have made it very economic.
The way I see it , whether intentional or not, is that the buzz with bitcoin could end up making some connected with CLP (bond holders etc )rather well off without them ever having to mine anything. I don't personally believe that there was an intention to go down the crypto route. But just stating the intention in rather vague language has lead to a massive surge in the price. For suffering LTHs this is a gift.

Mefiapolis: they have bought rights to “potential” claim estimated up to 20m, but as far as I know there has been no action launched and previously the company stated it did not expect to receive any more proceeds from mediapolis . However a reasonable success in the sipiem claim would probably tempt them to go after mediapolis... but any settlement is years away... in my opinion.

The originally mining unit in Serbia is, in my opinion, redundant .
However the company structure exists and now there is cash to buy into/take over other operations . It was worth a small punt first thing for me, but CLPs track record of choosing the right investments and more importantly timing isn’t great.
It’s obvious any mention of Bitcoin promotes huge excitement at the moment. I wonder if Eufingest will be tempted to cash in ?

I think RDSA are due a big announcement on their general forward strategy re: renewables etc. I would be surprised they would announce a new drill for gas at the same time, unless a shift from oil to gas is part of their overall strategy. I don’t know the day of the announcement but it is this week

I personally don’t think CLP stopped mining because of the low Bitcoin price. I believe they ran into logistical issues out in Serbia as well as falling out with their joint partner . You don’t just stop mining ( any commodity) because of short term variations in price . It suits the p&d brigade that there is some mention of Bitcoin on CLPs books as most of the crypto herd don’t give two hoots as to the real viability of companies such as Clp. The real interest in the business update was the mediapolis resurrection...and also what was not mentioned .

This share remains fascinating although I’m not currently invested .

My reading of that letter is the the only news expected in the short term is the Shell well/drilling decision by the end of March. They can't update us with anything on that until they get the answer from Shell and as I said a few days ago I would guess the chances have drifted slightly, but I would still be more optimistic than not.

Of course anything else could come out of the blue at any time but it is not like this company to just put out the same news without anything additional to add...and there isn't at the moment. It's a waiting game and then possibly a very quick decision to jump if shell pull out. Market expectations of that decision will start to feature in the next few weeks. I think the recent rise has more to do with Sneller buying a position, and if he's stopped for now I expect the price to continue to drift.
