Interesting to note the price of the outstanding Genel Bonds is on the increase.

I wonder if the company is spending those profits buying in the bonds on market & thus reducing there future interest payments.

I guess we'll find out when they give us the yearly results.

Hmm that's an interesting move & gets both companies out of a hole, not sure if Waldorf or Capricorn got the better deal though!

We'll let you off the hook with that $48M of yours that's tied up for years to come & in return you pay it to us immediately & thus you don't need to make the big payment to us in a couple of month's time.

I think Waldorf has got off the better initially longer term harder to say. At least Capricorn has the cash to pay Shell in January now without having to borrow it from elsewhere.

But will shareholders get to see any of that $48M in 2024 ?

Very surprised that DNO didn't give a further update on what's happening with regard to the overdue amounts.

They managed to get back $8M in October (which meant around $2.9M to Genel)

Never the less the bank balance is growing & its obvious they are the ones pushing GKP out of the market due to the better quality of the oil which is easier for the refineries to process.

I wake when I wake its not always as early as this.

hmm I was trying to see if there was a trigger that change your mind in the trading pattern, to learn from, but since you've not said I guess not.

I've made 1 loss trade so far on SYNT. It was my 2nd effort, I thought the trading action was pointing to the price moving northward back to that £1.93 - 5 range or beyond that I made my 1st quick profit on. I realised pretty soon afterwards I was wrong & the price wasn't going to go higher from the mid £1.8's & sold out for a loss of £91 & it did indeed go south, as it was a trap that I had fallen into.

I'm reading the bots better now, but still have lots of improvements to make, especially on the selling side of things.

I'm curious when did you top up ? you wrote on Thursday that you were waiting on £1.75 to buy back in, my 2nd sell on my other account happened 10:26 & I immediately put in another limit order for mid £1.76 & sadly it never got near filling it . I guess you changed your buy in price ?

As for me right now I'm absolutely furious with myself & that's putting it mildly.

I've made a lot of right calls as to what the share price is going to do yet have failed to profit from them as I should have.

I called it going to £1.90's this cycle round, didn't sell Thursday while others did, then sold 4,000 shares mid £1.83's which I could have got on Thursday. Could have sold the other 4,000 share part red/yellow for £1.902 but didn't because I initially thought it was going to re-test the £1.94 - 95 it hit last time it burst into the £1.90s & I had sold at £1.9225 for my 1st banked profit. Should have taken the £1.888 that you did Walkietalkie but didn't & somehow stopped myself selling until it got down to £1.81 when I finally pressed the button.

Between both lots that was £500+ easily & stupidly missed. That's a lot of extra shares I should have but won't have.

I keep saying you have to maximise these opportunities when they come & I made a complete mess of it, end of story.

They marked it down to a new low on Wednesday & didn't want buyers in the £1.67's, the trades show there was no sell order to cover, they were simply trying to shake out weak holders or trigger stop losses & failed to do so.

Since then the bots have driven it a lot higher, there is very little PI dealing going on other than us (using this BB) I'd say.

Personally I think you wrong, I think this is going to trade in the £1.60's again & will go back to the £1.90's as well while the bots play there accumulation games.

I think this will go low £1.7's & then bounce on Monday but we'll see, only the bots decide.

Ok the sale of 4,000 Red shares this morning at £1.8313 (after costs) netted a profit of £296.70 if I add in the left over profit from before of £98.25 giving me £394.95. To buy 250 of the Orange shares would costs £426.30 so I'm £32 short of doing that, but I'm going to do it anyway & will account for the shortfall in my next banked profit.

So Blue Core Holding has now increased to 1625 shares (1375+250) & there break even price is down to £19.01

Orange Holding is now just 25 shares (275-250)

Yellow Holding remains at 4,000 shares

Red Holding is now 2,000 shares

On the other measurement we now have a total shareholding of 5,470 shares which gives us a new break-even price of £6.856 for investing the rights issue money of £6,600 into SYNT as well.

The 5,470 figure comes from the following 550 original shares, plus the £6,600 + profit to date of £1,802 = £8402 which covers the cost of the 3,100 shares (£5286), plus 1820 shares from the ones that cost £1.7357 each.

We now have 1620 more shares than if we'd just invested the money in the rights issue & done nothing (a 42% increase on the 3850 shares we would have had) & its lowered our break even point by the same percentage.

Looks to me like they are trying to fill an order around the £1.84 - £1.85 mark.

Not sure what they'll want to do with the price after its done. As the bots don't seem in perfect unison as it is.

So I'm going to go & sell 4,000 Red share and see what happens afterwards & then decide if I'm going to sell more or not.

At least this way I bank a profit on most of the £1.7571's I bought.

Now that things have calmed down I will say that I bought some more on wednesday morning (I was going to put it in IPEL) but wasn't offered a great price after my 1st morning purchase there& at that point SYNT was below £1.70

I tried to buy 4,000 shares & it wanted 1.25p premium to the price this didn't change over like 10 mins so I split it into 2x 2,000 shares & I got the 1st lot in the low £1.68's & the same with the limit order for the other 2K.

I traded that parcel of 4,000 twice yesterday for a total profit of over £750, but I'm not counting that towards this endeavour.

On the one hand it gave me much more freedom & I was happy to bank a quick profit while I waited to put the money back where it came from given I'd missed the IPEL dividend.

On the other hand it probably cost me one trade on the normal one when trying to move from 1 account to another. However I'm not sure I would have been as cavalier at buying back in as I was with the other lot (£1.77x)

There is a further update to the major shareholders list for 1st December on the company website.

I'm just not sure how accurate it is ......

Citigroup had a large holding of 5.29% on 28th November & its not on the list & there's been no notification to say its dropped.

Honestly Goldman Sachs seem to be the only one out there that seems to be on top of compliance issues & give holding updates as required.

Hi Blowntobits,

I must admit I've also been close to 100% invested constantly in the past.

I've started to change, as its become very apparent to me in the last couple of years that holding shares long term is no longer the right thing to do. Yes there are shares you want to hold most of the time but there are also times when it is wiser to be out them & to reap the benefits for doing just that.

Was the GKP November production number down because they were squeezed out at the time by DNO/Genel upping there production substantially from mid November ?

And the slight rise in December is the market starting to adjust to more supply at cheap prices compared to where they would be on international markets ?

If so then Genel's share price shouldn't have reacted as it did yesterday.

Off topic, - If anyone did take a look at IPEL yesterday & bought ahead of them going Ex-Dividend then you've been handsomely rewarded so far as the bid price is now higher than yesterday's purchase price & you get the £0.559 per share dividend on 12th Jan.

There's clearly 2 if not 3 bots on active duty at the moment & they are deadly, at snapping up loose shares and getting people to do the wrong thing.

If we're all making money at the moment who's losing it on the other side ?

Personally I've still not changed my earlier view that the £1.90's are in sight.

I hope you got re-filled around the £1.75 mark, I'm convinced the bot is going to drive this close to if not into the £1.90's today & I want to maximise the profit if I'm even close to being 100% correct.

There are a lot of hard luck stories around SYNT, which is no wonder really given the drop from well over £4 to roughly 8.5p a share now.

Certainly looks like I've made the wrong call & should have taken the £1.825 on offer earlier but the bot buying & prices on offer said to me they wanted it higher yet.

The bot did a few sells nothing major which is why the price has come down & the PI's existed & the bot mopped up the stock. Its back on the buy side as I write (slowly) that may change.

I think its up more on the USA outlook given how much of the company is now in the USA rather than to do with the UK outlook.

It touched £1.651 but only for a tiny bot trade, no-one got to buy any stock really below £1.675 & if you look through the trades I can't find the seller & what sort of price the MM's were using to facilitate that sell order. So they may have been looking to trigger stop-losses & failed to do so.

As you've seen this morning this share price can move very fast indeed and completely away from you.

Just in case anyone is now looking at Impellam.

The original offer announcement on 13th December was for £10.844 per share. However that was the last day before the shares went Ex-Dividend for the dividend of £0.559 per share which is payable on 12th Jan 2024.

So anyone buying the shares from now onwards needs to take that into account.

The value of the offer will drop further as & when the 2 other dividends that are part of the offer get paid out(go Ex-Dividend in the future)

So as at 14th December the offer is now worth £10.285 per share.
