The latest Investing Matters Podcast episode featuring Jeremy Skillington, CEO of Poolbeg Pharma has just been released. Listen here.
Hi Wilks8,
The Wilson & Sons 1st Quarter results are due 7th of May & they should be pretty good compared to Q1 2023 especially the container terminal revenue etc.
Will be interesting to see if they go to quarterly dividend payments ! then hopefully OCN do the same to stop the massive share price drop each time.
& watch out for the April monthly figures there going to be some special ones in there! :)
------------------------------
If you want to have a look at another share that I think is very special indeed ( I only discovered it on 8th April) its called Mirriad code MIRI & research it then please do, but go to the CNE chat first of all because I posted the story there, with links etc & it will make your research much easier.
I believe the market cap should be multiples of where it is right now ....... like 10 fold inside 2 years
That will give you something to do on a Sunday !
& hope to hear your view on it, or see you on the MIRI chat thread soon!
LOTM
Morning Mozax,
I hate to think just how many shares you & 2phevs own!
The more shares that are in sticky hands the better, because one day soon the day traders will arrive in force ( & I've just found out it has a OTC listing) & so will the American's, by that route or directly. Probably as soon as the 1st of these TV upfronts presentations takes place as the put AI & Mirriad together.
I'm very much a cynic to, the trades around 2pm - 2:04pm at 1.8p & 1.798p look very strange more like sells than buy, yet instead of the price dropping after them it rose!
2phevs, posted the link at 2:16pm so it could have been in sight before then.
Now maybe the MM's had loaded up & wanted a bit more margin this time & hence raised the price a bit ? I'm just guessing or they know that seller is done for now/ for good.
I'm hoping we get a few more days without an RNS.
Good Luck All

Hi CR888,
No problem, Mirriad's problem is that its totally flown under the radar for so long, personally I'd never heard of the company until the 8th of April, but dig deeper with the help of a couple of oracles on where all its tentacles go & suddenly you see a £100M+ company staring you in the face & I'm not just saying that.
go here https://www.mirriadplc.com/investor-relations/reports-and-documents & download the 25th August 2023 presentation.
Page 7 & you'll soon get the idea, but it might not be for you.
As for trends, well Helium is the one that will definitely explode, trouble is no-one yet has found a viable source of it. Yes exploration is now occurring but all the targets have unanswered question including London listed HE1 & HEX so not worth going there yet, but Helium is a dead cert because of the absolutely dire need for it.
If I come across anything of note I'll let you know.
Good Luck

Hi CR888,
Re
"Darktrace is Sexy...........whether 620 p or 820p .....where to invest the proceeds.... which UK listed funds or Shares are low now with a 25% upside or more , within next 12 months ??? your top 3 ideas???
AI Cyber/UK the leader in big industry in UK

It might not tick all your boxes, but will for AI & the potential upside is multiples of your 25% target. Mirriad - MIRI
I know its small right now but worth checking out, has a collaboration with Microsoft & Microsoft have done a webinar with them that has yet to be published. They have 40% of USA Content providers signed up & talking to another of the top 3 that would take them to over 55% of the market.
Some of those Content providers are going to showcase the Mirriad solution in there highly anticipated TV Upfronts 2024 presentations in May, starting possibly on May 13/14th, can't be sure because Mirriad has never officially named the signed Content providers. & yet here we are, where some of those Content providers are going to reveal themselves.
Good luck with your research & hopefully a better offer price for DARK

Hi 2phevs & MrTaylor194,
Just to let you know, I reached out to a few posters (many are not LSE users) to make them aware of Mirriad, so you might see a few newbies around with questions !
I've told them your the Mirriad information oracles !
So hopefully you'll be as helpful to any of them if they come as you were & are with me. 2phevs (especially)
May is going to be a fascinating month for sure. I sense there's going to be a lot of official & unofficial news flow & hints of what's just around the corner.
Thanks & Good Luck

Hi saxman303,
Your not the only one who can't work out at what point in time it will reach break even.
We really don't have any solid numbers to go on yet & there in lies the problem.
Will it go down in price, if people see a clear path to profitability ?
And your assuming they will do any cash raise via a placing. What if they issue a 15% 1 year loan note instead, or are able to get a short term loan ?
Remember the first Programmatic revenue is forecast to occur inside the next 2 months & it will then grow with that Content provider for the rest of the year & 4 more are likely to be active in Q3.
The business model - the investor part of the website isn't good, but go here https://www.mirriadplc.com/investor-relations/reports-and-documents & download the 25th August 2023 presentation.
Page 16 & you'll see all the additional revenue streams it will open up that "Manual" mode doesn't give.
I only just found this https://www.linkedin.com/posts/mirriad_mirriad-is-excited-to-share-some-big-news-activity-7170820927352516609-h1ka (wish they had used one of the Thunderbirds instead, & assigned a particular Thunderbird to each Content provider).
That same announcement in its RNS form said this
"Stephan Beringer, CEO of Mirriad, said: "This lengthening line of agreements with US 'majors' or 'super-majors' shows that the 'Mirriad-inside' strategy of integrating in-content advertising across the entire TV and video media ecosystem is gaining significant traction. Focusing on the biggest players in the largest market in the world is steadily creating a sea-change in the scale of new partners and establishing the Mirriad ad format as a new industry gold standard. Adding to the new partner agreements signed in Q4 2023, Mirriad's access to the US TV advertising market has just grown from less than 10% to almost 40% and we are now working with seven out of the top ten media companies in the US. Negotiations with another US major are also progressing.
"Programmatic integration with this Partner's streaming platforms is in active discussions already, and this is expected to enable significantly shorter lead times, automated transactions and increased volumes. Our focus for the past two years has been on developing a programmatic solution as this will enable us to scale revenues significantly. I'm excited that we are in touching distance of achieving this."
I think the bottom is probably in place now, I'd love to be buying more super cheap shares that's for sure.
Good Luck

Hi Wilks8,
And I forgot to say the OCN Investment returns have been truly awful.
If they'd invested the cash back in 2007 into the index they quote instead, then the investment portfolio wouldn't be valued at $330M it would be north of $850M, plus all the management & bonus fees paid !
LOTM
Hi Wilks8,
Steady on ............ "investment returns through the roof, succulent divi in June " you need to learn what's what.
Wilson & Sons doesn't have an investment portfolio like OCN does, it does have investments in a couple of tech start-ups & that's about it.
No they wouldn't get the OCN dividend in June, they would only get about 35% of that amount because Wilson & Sons has already paid our 2 dividends that OCN didn't pass on to us & are lumping the 3 together & short changing us OCN shareholders at the same time.

Part 1
I thought I'd share this off-topic share with you all, because I know most of you here have been long term investors & are happy to hold a share for many months or years.
------------------------
Full discloser - I'd never heard of this company until 8th April 2024 & to be honest its not really my thing (as I'm not a techie & much prefer exploration stocks), but I'm finding the opportunity totally compelling.
Its a company called Mirriad - AIM listed under the code MIRI
I've been buying it in small chunks for the past couple of weeks knowing I could get caught out at any point, but at the same time waiting for the price to drop. My average price is around the current sp now ie 2p & I have bought 900,000 shares so far ( I will get to the 1M mark on Monday - 0.2% of the company)at prices from 2.25p to 1.74p & the latest 1.98p just before market close on Friday.
------------------------
When it originally listed it was valued at about £65M & its technology was used to add/place things into films.
Now its valued at just £10M & its technology is used to do virtual product placements in Ads.
In the middle of last year it changed its business plan, so as to concentrate virtually all of its efforts on the USA advertising market - the biggest single market in the world. It had £9.8M in cash at 30th June 2023 & budgeted for £0.7M per month in cash outflow which would see it through to the end of Aug 2024. We've still waiting on the 31st Dec accounts but they did announce that they had £6.1M still in the bank (£0.5M better than projected at that point).
Part 2
By October they had signed up 7% of the Content providers, by early December that had reached 25% & in early March 2024 it was at 40% & they are talking to one of the other top 3 three providers which would take them to over 55% of the market (they have 6 of the top 9 signed currently).
If you want to research it, then go to https://blog.mirriad.com/ there are lots of really good articles there to read just to give you a flavour of it. There's also a couple of really knowledgeable people on the LSE website chat board that I also use that help fill in the gaps because the company's tentacles are everywhere.
The problem is time is now limited -
Why is time limited ?
Well the company tends to use LinkedIn to hint at what's about to come ( as well as the blog posts).
On the 9th/10th April the CEO posted about a webinar with Microsoft https://www.linkedin.com/posts/mirriad_stay-on-the-lookout-for-a-webinar-with-microsoft-activity-7183852657910898688-gdWx & it coming out "Soon" its Microsoft's so they will dictate when its released - I'm sure it will discuss there collaboration around AI & this virtual product placement.
Then on Thursday the CEO posted this https://www.linkedin.com/posts/mirriad_mirriad-is-pleased-to-share-that-our-virtual-activity-7189223402392424448-CWH1 which is basically saying some of the Content providers are going to reveal the product at TV Upfront 24 which starts 13/14th May. This is the event where the Content providers reveal there autumn programs new series etc etc & is a highly anticipated event.
Until now they've not even revealed which Content providers have signed up ie kept it secret & yet now some of the Content providers have decided to go public with the news!
When you read through those blog posts you'll understand why there doing it, advertisers are probably demanding it, when you see the independent 3rd party market research on this type of advertisings & its success.
Amazon has been seen in recent posts & one of Mirriad's key contacts was at a AmazonPrime premier on Thursday night in Germany https://www.linkedin.com/posts/sandra-freisinger-brandedentertainment_primevideo-maxtonhall-maxtonhallonprime-activity-7189591480062148608-ZlE5?utm_source=share&utm_medium=member_android it was after that got posted on Friday afternoon that some buying of the stock occurred.
Part 3
The Auto sector has really embraced VPP see this Toyota/Lexus information
https://www.linkedin.com/posts/mirriad_toyota-gets-94-ad-awareness-with-mirriad-activity-7185948779563433985-5yAy
They have also ran recent campaigns in the USA for Nissan (delighted with the result), they've also ran them for VW & Opel in Germany ( I don't know if for VW in USA yet)
This lady is important & runs a special part of of the business.
https://www.linkedin.com/posts/mirriad_top-women-in-media-ad-tech-admonsters-activity-7186358467819941890-YWwB
The business model - the investor part of the website isn't good, but go here https://www.mirriadplc.com/investor-relations/reports-and-documents & download the 25th August 2023 presentation.
Page 7, is saying that if 2.4% of advertising were to shift to VPP by 2026, it would equate to $2.5B & if Mirriad had 20% of partners signed up it would give them $125m (that's $500M split with 75% going to the Content providers & 25% to Mirriad) that's £100M gross & that's before you even consider that they have 40% of the market signed up already, not to mention the rest of the world opportunity to come after that. Gross margin is meant to be high (85%) but really need to see if it stays that way, even at 50% net you'd be talking £50M profit for the year or 5 times the current market cap.
Now they may need to raise more cash to see them through to break-even but I can't see it being any more than £5M max & it might not be in the form of equity. Hard to tell right now.
I'd say a £100M market cap is a pretty achievable target inside 2 years, if not soon. As long as it doesn't get taken out in the meantime & sadly there are numerous potential candidates. Hence why you want long term holders onboard.
They have patents in place etc for there product & https://blog.mirriad.com/mirriad-awarded-tpn-gold-shield-status is another barrier to entry
"Programmatic" is going to take them to another level ! rather than doing things "Manual"
Thanks for you time & Enjoy your research !
Should any of you have any questions then I'll be happy to try & answer them on the MIRI thread where 2phevs (especially) & MrTaylor194 reside.

Hi joseywales & GMHK,
I don't know if you had a look at that off topic share or not ?
I'm more bullish on it now than at any point in the last 3 weeks of research.
Opportunity timewise would appear to be closing fast, 11 trading days max before the 1st of several RNS's in May I'd say.
Good luck with the research

Hi Walkietalkie,
hmm you probably ran into the same "limit order" issue I had :( I'm not sure if its a more of an AIM thing rather than a main market one, something for you to bear in mind for the future.
My limit order wasn't getting filled, yet buy trades were clearly going through at below my limit price. So I did a quote & deal instead & got stock that way. On AIM if the offer price doesn't go below your imit price it won't trigger & there are occasions I've found where the official quote is completely wrong & both bid/ask trades are going through outside the quote ! ie quote is 2.55 - 2.65 yet the buys are at 2.71 & sells at 2.67 !
I've done about 10 buy trades so far, from a high of 2.25p to a low of 1.74p So far I bought 900,000 (& that will go to a million before Wednesday) my average price is around 2p.
These are a long term hold (well most likely until it gets taken over, or something dramatic happens). I'll buy an additional trading parcel after there's 1M locked away 0.2% of the company.
I know your more into your Tech stocks than me ( a non techie) but market cap is £10M roughly. First target for me is £50M then £100M given what the projected revenue figures will look like.
As you'll have seen 2phevs is the unbelievable source of knowledge here , backed up by Mr Taylor194
Your entry time is very limited I'd say, the window of opportunity has shrunk fast. Which is why I've had to accelerate my own buying plans :(
TV upfront 2024 starts 13th/14th May - CEO posted on LinkedIn (there preferred method of communicating as well as the https://blog.mirriad.com/ ) that they will feature in some of the content providers presentations - previews of there autumn schedules & shows.
They recorded a webinar with Microsoft probably on 9th or 10th April & CEO late on the 10th, posted about it & being able to view it "Soon" its Microsoft's so they control the release of it etc - its no-doubt going to give details of the collaboration they have regarding AI etc
The signing of the other top 3 content provider they are in talks with - which would give them access to over 55% of the USA market instead of the current 40%
The annual report could drop in any day now & hopefully it has a bit updating the heading figures for Q1 as well.
There are other things in the wind that could come out at any moment as well - programmatic live & earning revenue being one of them.
Cash is the big issue, they were meant to be funded to 31st August at a cash burn of £700,000 per month. We have no idea if that's accelerated due to all the integrations there doing or is still the projection. When will revenue increase markedly again we don't know, but the gross margin is meant to be like 85% (need more evidence). I don't currently see a scenario where they would need any more than £5M more to see them through to the break-even point - doesn't mean it will be through equity & they may not even need it at all.
I think this is
Hi parkez,
That was the trade the original poster was talking about.
Yes this year's ISA limit, is a cash injection £20K & £5K for this new add on max, so it wouldn't fall within that remit.
However brokers allow you to take significant sums of cash from your ISA & then put it (or stock) back in it before the end of the tax-year. So don't be fooled into think £20/£25K is the max, that's what MM's etc want you to think.
LOTM
Hi parkez,
You clearly can't read time stamps just consecutive numbers.
The Sell trade 193 was at 10:11:24 @ 0.09p
The Purchase trade 192 was at 10:11:46 (that's 22 secs later) at 0.09004p
I rest my case, park my handbag.
LOTM
Actually its very likely they are a bed & breakfast trade.
Probably from a normal account into an ISA.
Thus creating a tax loss on the normal account at the same time any gain from here is tax free.
LOTM
I posted on the ITV thread the other day after reading about them losing £1M on Mr Bates verses the Post Office.
About Mirriad being able to help them recoup some of those losses with virtual product placements in it.
Anyway someone responded to it & has apparently used Mirriad in the distant past, I've tried to invite them over here to contribute to the discuss, in case there input could be of value.
Good Luck All

Well spotted 2phevs :)

The translation of the article
Mega performance: The Amazon series “Maxton Hall – The World Between Us” had its world premiere in Berlin and I was there! It was great. To kick things off, there were the first two episodes on the big screen in the Zoopalast, followed by the reception in the Orangery in Charlottenburg. In the Orangery, everything was prepared in the style of Maxton Hall College: between the champagne pyramid, coats of arms on the walls and candlesticks with bows, you could completely immerse yourself in the world of the elite school. On the blue carpet, however, in addition to the actresses and producers, it felt like half of the Germany's Next Top Model candidates appeared as well as numerous influencers from Japan and the USA. Maxton Hall is the film adaptation of the successful novel “Save Me” by Mona Kasten (first part of the Maxton Hall trilogy) and tells the love drama of the scholarship holder Ruby Bell and the wealthy James Beaufort at an elite college in England. The series will be available on Amazon Prime Video from May 9th. Please be sure to take a look. For me, of course, it's not just the story itself that's exciting, but also the possibilities that Amazon series offer in terms of placement. 😊
Read into that what you will
