Despite others' excitement, it's NOT additional shares.

Following the recent fundraising, Lanstead was issued with 50,000,000 new Ordinary Shares (together with 3,500,000 Value Payment Shares). This equated to approximately 10.7% of the Company's enlarged issued share capital following the Subscription and the Placing. If you look at the TR1, it shows a LOWER than 10.7% increase in their total holding. From 6.9% previously to 16.13% as of 20 February.

Unfortunately it's not quite that simple. Otherwise shares would never trade at a discount to NAV.

PBX's SP has been quite volatile and if Opti suddenly tried to sell a large chunk, guess what the SP reaction would be?!

Goldgirl - you're right in saying "It is in everyone's interest for the sp to move up".

But for Lanstead, it's a matter of timing.

They've got to fund their monthly repayments to IMM somehow. And chances are, that'll be by selling enough of their holding to cover these outflows.

We're talking relatively small beer here relative to Lanstead's total holding. But it will still act as some sort of brake on the SP between now & December.

Incidentally, anyone posting that this is "capped at 5p til 2026" clearly doesn't believe Tim will deliver any further positive news between now & then. Despite my many misgivings about him, I suspect SOMETHING will emerge before the end of December. Otherwise it would be very hard for him to retain ANY investor confidence, given his recent interviews. Mind you, he does have form. And lots of it!

Brondby - if you read my post again, you'll see I was suggesting exactly what you've said, namely: "more likely they sell just enough to cover their monthly payments."

Goldgirl - it's been pointed out many times before that Lanstead will want to suppress the share price whilst their previous & new sharing arrangements are in place. So until the end of this year, unless we get another one.

It's likely they'll do that by selling off some of their holding each month to cover repayments.

Sure, they now own lots of IMM shares and will only be selling a relatively small proportion. But if they can pay back as little as possible between May & December, why would they choose any other option? The majority of their shares will still be there after December. And if the price then rises more substantially, they'll be onto a second winner.

Any significant SP rise between now and December will primarily be down to IMM releasing positive news (and I don't just mean more jam tomorrow RNSs). Ending any churn on the latest placing shares will - in comparison - have relatively little impact.

You continue taking everything Tim says at face value. Had you done this at Incanthera (another of McCarthy's specials) over the past 6 months, you'd currently be down roughly two thirds on your money.

NAV remains largely academic until investors are convinced there's a plan to release some of it.

At least the latest portfolio update actually acknowledges this:

"Tekcapital's core business objective is to grow its net assets and return material levels of capital generated from its portfolio companies' successes to shareholders via special dividends. As ever, we remain committed to this objective."

Now they just need to start doing it (as I've been saying for years).
