Walp - beyond the initial letters of their surnames, there are certain similarities between Trump & Truss.

Both like to disrupt, shake up the status quo & light a fuse under long-standing institutions.

Whilst there's always merit in questioning whether the "way things are done" is the way things should be done, there's usually only tears when you rip up the rule book completely.

In Truss's case, the wheels came off quicker than you could say lettuce. Trump's is more of a slo-mo car crash. And - as I suggested previously - I suspect he'll actually apply the brakes before the airbags need engaging.

Both are very dangerous though, believing they have all the answers when in practice they inflict infinitely more harm than good.

Friedman - I agree with much of what you say, but I don't think anyone suggested Coca Cola & Pepsi would visit at the same time.

3LittleBirds - that post may prove to be right eventually, but it’s total guesswork.

As for them saying: “I expect to see a gradual firming up of the share price over the coming week, and regardless of the flow test results (Charles Formation) which I expect will outperform expectations.” Well let’s see, shall we. My view is that if flow test results disappoint, the SP will more than lose any gains made in the days immediately before results are released.

Even on good news, Hex has generally only gone up a few pence, before promptly giving up some of those gains again. So I really can’t see it rallying if the news is bad.

FWIW, I too believe Hex is likely to have risen significantly by Q3 2025 once Rudyard is hopefully in production. But whether any rally starts next week (or the week after) depends largely on the flow test outcome.

Cperkin - don't you believe it. The downside is NEVER fully priced in until news is confirmed by RNS.

Tariffs are a great way of transferring power & wealth from the little people to the State and to those in charge.

Ultimately the consumer ends up paying more to the State for the privilege of buying goods or services.

If you can then sell this heist to your people as a measure aimed at protecting their country & safeguarding their jobs, so much the better.

Trump did something similar in his first term with protectionist tariffs on washing machines. End result was consumers paid over 40% more for exactly the same product 4-5 years later on. And for each extra US job created, it cost the taxpayer more than $800,000.

Goldgirl & Spantrout - it’s got nothing to do with noise. If you check the latest sharing agreement, Lanstead wins MOST if the SP remains below 5p until end December.

If the SP rises AFTER that, once they’ve stopped selling to fund the monthly repayments, then even better for them.

Gotrader - I’d say it’s mainly down to Trump tariffs & fears over Ukraine.

Things seem to be steadying currently, but with a petulant orangutan “in charge” across the pond, anything can happen.

Why would BOTH parties be expecting this?

IMM, for sure. But Lanstead, no way. They may expect the SP to increase eventually. But they've a vested interest in it being as low as possible until the sharing agreement expires at the end of the year.

Ubik - he'll soon change course (well before midterm elections next November) when inflation starts rising, markets continue to fall/stagnate & his ratings plummet.

Miraculously, it'll suddenly be decreed that Canada, Mexico & China have addressed the fentanyl issue sufficiently. And hey presto, tariffs will promptly be reduced or lifted. You heard it here first!

Interestingly, the share price is following a fairly similar pattern to last year.

However, last time the downturn spanned early Dec 23 to early Mar 24. The SP then went on to increase by nearly £1 over the following two months, before giving up around half those gains again.

This year, we're currently up around 40p from the mid Feb low. I'd be very surprised if we don't breach £4 again at some stage before the summer's out. Beyond that is anyone's guess. The point at which I'd significantly reduce remains £5.50.
