Simple,I have made investments in Lloyds at a higher price than the current share price with IG'g charges built in. SB's are leveraged. To purchase the equivalent amount of shares would mean 5 times the upfront cost.

Strange how you get the usual suspects coming out of the woodwork on such a day.

It makes it a convenient time to o a review -

Lloyds to be sub 35p in 2024 (rolled over from previous years) -

current share price over 59p

LGEN to be 285p - current share price a bit over 222p

You can think of the difference in price as time value, just as a call option has time value. As time passes the JUNE forward price would get closer to the cash price.

The SB will expire in JUNE but I will roll it over if necessary.

Buying a cash SB has a daily cost. The JUNE price is with costs built in. I will not be paying any additional costs on top.

The price of the JUNE forward will move just as the cash price does

As I have said if the Socialists destroy shareholders with much higher taxes, I may contemplate doing a lot more of my investments via SB's

That is PLUS 20p to todays price, and the dividend payments on top.
