...... is a subsidiary of Elsewedy Electric, who CyanConnode have worked with previously in India and who have been a Partner of CyanConnodes for some years.

Elsewedy Electric are still to gain some traction in India, in connection with the RDSS smart meter roll-out and are not currently on the REC Empanelment list.

Interestingly, Iskraemeco India are on the Empanelment List and are offering both Cellular and RF Solutions.

......... inform's us that the January 2024 Achievement figure ( Installations ) stands at 523,429 so far this month. With the overall Cumulative Achievement ( Total installations ) for electric smart meters, now standing at 8,505,737.

So with the additional Awarded smart meters recorded so far during January 2024, there has been some encouraging progress being made during the first two weeks of this year.

Good morning all,

The big winner so far in January, in the Awarded section, was Bihar for NBPDCL, for an additional 7,690,000 smart meters. Bringing the total Awarded for this particular utility in Bihar, to 10,290,000. Which means that all the smart meters that were Sanctioned so far, for NBPDCL, have now been Awarded.

Someones going to be busy. Eventually.

A very good appointment, I might suggest, Bjorn having been part of the CyanConnode senior management team since the acquisition of Connode. I have met him on a couple of occasions, at various CyanConnode events and he seems a very able addition to the board.

" Bjorn is a serial entrepreneur with a strong manegerial track record and over 25 years experience of starting and growing technology companies. He was previously Chief Executive of Connode AB prior to its acquisition by Cyan plc, in 2016, to form CyanConnode and more recently, until 2021, has provided consultancy services to the Company. He has also served as Chairman and board member in several technology companies, including Allgon AB, listed on NASDAQ First North."

......report, published on 10th January, 2024, shows an increase of smart meters Awarded up from 9,86,89,122 ( 98,689,122 ) on 13th December, 2023, up to 10,63,79,122 ( 106,379,122 ) as of 10th January, 2024. An increase of 7,690,000 Awarded during that period.

It would seem they have been busy over the Christmas and New Year periods.

Good progress on the Awarded front, I feel. I am sure that CyanConnode and CyanConnode investors are looking forward to the next step.

Looking at the latest NSGM stats all information, published on 10th January, 2024, there are not many Indian States that have Sanctioned, let alone Awarded 20m+ smart meters, for deployment. MSEDCL is one - Sanctioned and Awarded 22m+ and the other is Tamil Nadu - 30m Sanctioned but none Awarded, as yet.

The information that you posted on 30th December, 2023, on MonteCarlo, also states in the report, about MSEDCL, dated 22nd September, 2023, that " ....... a total of 2.36 crore ( 23.6m ) smart meters have been Sactioned in Maharastra under RDSS."

In the MSEDCL Smart Metering Orders information within the post that you provided, the report confirms that 172.52 lakh ( 17.252m ) smart meters are split between Adani Group and NCC Ltd.

MonteCarlo and Genus Power do not have any notifications showing, for smart meters, at the moment. But MonteCarlo awarded a contract to CyanConnode this month, in connection to Maharashtra, for 1m Omnimesh Modules, which maybe could be retro-spectively included in your information. That leaves a balance of circa 5.348m smart meters, from the 2.36 crore smart meters Sanctioned in the MSEDCL report that you posted, for Genus, or to be divided between the Companies mentioned or others that may be successful, in Maharashtra.

As I understand it, you are correct in saying that the " ...... 2 x 20 million orders referred to for IntelliSmart and Adani are not individual single tenders ..... " They are an accumulation of tenders/contracts.

In the report I posted yesterday, it refers to IntelliSmart as having " ..... an order book of approximately 20 million units " and to Adani as having " ...... an approximately 20 million smart meter order book .... "

And your percentage of accumulated orders for both IntelliSmart and Adani of 40%, as set against the 99m total so far Awarded, looks very impressive indeed, for the two Companies.

So we will have to see how these two Companies progress with future tenders, but as we now know, they have a fare chunk of the Indian smart meter pie, at this moment in time. Which we were probably not aware of before.

As well as some general information on the RDSS, there is also a reference to the two x 20 million ongoing smart meter projects, one includes IntelliSmart, for 20 million smart meters and the other is for Adani, also for 20 million smart meters. Both of which have been discussed on the bb recently, I seem to remember.

As I mentioned earlier in the week, these two tenders alone account for 16% of the total number of 250 million smart meters required in India, Overall.

And not forgetting that the 250 million smart meters, are electric. There is still the water and gas that has yet to be Sanctioned.

So still a significant number of smart meter contracts to tender for.

" In the analysis, ICRA states that the pace of installation is expected to witness a significant jump over the next two years, supported by the progress in tendering and the government's focus on improving the finances of the distribution companies.

" As of December 2023, 222.3 million smart meters had been Sanctioned by the government, but of these 98.7 million had been Awarded.

" However, only 8 million smart meters had been installed, as of December 2023."

This is not a suprise, as not many government targets are met. No matter which country you refer to.

As you say Vas and I agree, this is a very significant report on the proposal for an RDSS-11, extending the original RDSS scheme which should be complete towards the end of 2026, until 2030, for RDSS-11. Thank you for sharing this report Vas. As always, it is much appreciated.

And it is encouraging to know that the Indian Government has the foresite to make such plans, while they are still rolling-out the original RDSS Scheme.

To date, tenders for 222m smart meters have been Sanctioned and approximately 98m smart meters have been Awarded to Prime Bidders. We expect these orders to filter down to orders for sub-contractors, such as CyanConnode, soon. There is typically a delay of a few months between the Award of the contract to the Prime Bidder and the subsequent Award to sub-contractors. We believe CyanConnode will see many years of high, double digit revenue growth."

Music to our ears, about the " ... many years of high, double digit revenue growth ..... ". And long may it continue.

" CyanConnode announced an order for 1m units, its largest order this financial year, to date. The contract will help underpin revenues for FY24 but, to a greater extent, will support our forecast for 111% revenue growth, in FY25. CyanConnode is poised for many years of strong growth, as it continues to win a significant share of India's scheme to implement 250m smart meters."

There are two sentences that stick out for me, in the first paragraph of the Zeus report, namely - " CyanConnode announced an order for 1m units, its largest order this financial year, to date " - could there be others in the pipeline by the end of the Financial Year - lets hope so.

And the other is - " CyanConnode is poised for many years of strong growth, as it continues to win a significant share of India's scheme to implement 250m smart meters."

Only a small report from Zeus, initially about the MonteCarlo order from Maharashtra, for CyanConnode, but it contains some very significant information, I feel.
