........ Cellular Metering Products - contains a reference to the Cellular Network Interface Card ( CNIC ) which is mentioned in the JST/Thailand/CyanConnode RNS yesterday.

So the CNIC solution/product, in not a new development, as such, although it may have been initially developed for the Indian market, launched in March 2020, which has now developed into a more global solution, targeting many different global regions.

From the report - Mr. Allan Baig commented:-

" We are pleased to announce this expantion to the Omnimesh range of products, providing new development options and technologies, that satisfy the evolving market requirements in the territories in which CyanConnode operates.

" Omnimesh continues to provide competitive solutions that perform effectively in all smart metering environments and markets, delivering measurable value to customers and helping CyanConnode to maintain its leadership position in its target markets."

So another little nugget in CyanConnode's tool-box, that can be used and developed, as and when required.

....... " Strong back-log supports FY24:- CyanConnode stated on 11 January that its cumulative order intake in India is 6.3m units, with 3.9m units in backlog. The delivery of some of these backlog units over the final quarter of the year should allow the company to meet our revenue expectations of £16.3m in FY24. The company needs to generate only £10.5m of revenue in H2 FY24 to meet our full year forecasts. This appears conservative to us since it represents almost no growth from H2 FY23 revenue of £10.4m, despite increasing contract momentum this year, in India and other markets."

" Valuation:- We believe CyanConnode is undervalued. The company offers much higher growth than peers but its shares trade only in line with peer group median multiples ( 12x 2024 EBIT ). The median sales growth of the Electronic Equipment and Components peer group, is only 6%, compared to almost doubling of sales for CyanConnode in 2024."

It seems as though there is strong growth envisaged, with also strong " ..... revenue expectations ....... ".

" CyanConnode's revenue opportunities in India are at an early stage and should multiply. India's Revamped Distribution Sector Scheme ( RDSS ) targets sactioning 250m meters by March 2025. However, only 2.8m RDSS-related meters ( 9.0m total ) have been deployed, according to India's Ministry of Power, as at 7th February, 2024. Whilst 198m RDSS-related meters ( 222m total ) have been sanctioned and 88m RDSS-related meters (108m total ) have been awarded, far fewer meters have named sub-contractors and only the small numbers of meters above, have been deployed. We expect the large numbers of sanctioned and awarded meters to soon filter down to subcontractors, such as CyanConnode. There is typically a delay of a few months between the award and the contract to the prime bidder and the subsequent award to subcontractors. Given CyanConnode's high win-ratio in India of approximately 25% in terms of volume, the company anticipates making further contract announcements in due course."

" The Company announced a LOA from its Partner, the JST Group, for 101,360 CNICs to begin delivery in Q1 FY25. The LOA builds upon an ongoing successful deployment of Omnimesh RF Modules, Gateways, and 206,735 Omnimesh perpetual sortware licences in Thailand. CNICs are different from the RF Mesh modules that the company currently provides in the Indian market. CNICs use Cellular technology to communicate with the Head-End System ( HES ) alongside CyanConnode's RF Mesh technology, thereby allowing network operators to deploy hybrid architectures in varied environments. Today's LOA is the largest CNIC order that CyanConnode has received to date. This provides a strong reference for future bids and broadens the company's market potential."

It is good to see that the CyanConnode Cellular Modules are gaining some traction, all-be-it in smaller numbers, in a different region other than India. And also confirmation that the Cellular solutions have also been adapted to the different band width in Thailand, that being 442/447 MMHz.

" Phase 1 of the Indian programme is well advanced: Of the total smart meter rollout of 250m meters, 100m were identified as higher priority. CyanConnode's latest update confirms that tenders for c100m meters are currently in process, compared with c62m in November 2022."

As far as I understand it, from the records I have, there were not " ..... 100 million meters awarded to AMI's ....... " up to March 2023, if that is what you are indicating with your quote " Are these 100 million meters awarded to AMI's, the same awarded a year ago this march?"

On July 14th, 2023 there were 56m+ smart meters that had been Awarded, at that time. So the March 2023 figure for smart meter Awards, would be less than 56m+, I would have thought.

As of February 2024, so far, there are 108m+ smart meters that have been Awarded. So a circa 93% increase in smart meters Awarded, over the July 14th, 2023 figure, that I have provided.

Thank you for the NSGM update, for February 2024. It is appreciated.

The main winner so far during February 2024, is the project for Andhra Pradesh ( APEPDCL ) with an upgrade of Awarded smart meters of 272,924, bringing the total Awarded for that particular utility to 1,255,240. Which is their total number of Sanctioned smart meters, that have know been Awarded, for that particular project.

The number of Sanctioned smart meters remains at 222,264,571, with the number of Awarded smart meters increasing to 108,340,333, so far.

There was information within the report that I posted, that seemed to contain additional/different information to that which you had posted a few days ago. That is why I used a different heading.

As far as having a different section for hybrid smart meters, I'm not sure that level of detail is important in the overall scheme of things. CyanConnode have informed us if a hybrid solution has been provided, but I cannot remember where. But to have a different " league table " for the Hybrid solution, if that is what you are implying, I personally, do not think is neccessary.

As long as the number of meters are covered in an overall framework that does not give anything away to the competition and provides a level of confidentiality for both the Client and for CyanConnode, I am happy with the information that is provided.

Also, I am not sure whether a smart meter contract can be/is able to be split between Hybrid and standard Omnimesh, within the same contract, for regional/mountainous/urban/rural conditions, or whether a separate tender would need to be Sanctioned and Awarded.

Still, exciting times ahead, I feel and long may it continue.

I had often wondered how much a contribution CyanConnode has made, over the years, with policy-making, but this is the first time I have seen it in print. And also the " ..... leveraging its global deployment experience to contribute to the creation of open and robust standards " is very significant, I feel.

I seem to remember some " Round Table " meetings taking place between Indian Government officals and CyanConnode, some years ago. Maybe they have been continuing, but less public.

I feel sure that CyanConnode's " .... global deployment experience ..... " in India and other global regions, will/has been taken into consideration, when other global authorities are considering their options? Some definitely have.
