RE: The ISGF SmartGrBulletin ...........11 Nov 2024 10:24
Good morning tonyj,
From what I remember about the original ISGM smart meter contracts, they were not structured in the same way that the RDSS contracts are structured today. i.e. 27 months installation/93 months Support and Maintenance ( 10 years total ). I seem to remember an early project having only a 2 year S&M contract.
There was an early contract under RDSS, I think, that had the Support and Maintenance contract Awarded to CyanConnode, a couple of days after the main smart meter contract, with an additional/separate value given to the S&M contract.
More recently, the Support & Maintenance contracts seem to have been included in the overall contract value, so no separate value is made public for the S&M contract. Which makes it more difficult for competitors to work out what the Omnimesh part of the contract is valued at and also the value of the S&M contract.
I hope it continues that way.
So to answer your question tonyj, I do not think under the original early contracts, the projects would still be under the original S&M time-scale. But that does not mean, that CyanConnode have not negotiated a follow-on S&M contract, for these particular contracts.
I might suggest that it is in the Utilities interest, to have CyanConnode do any S&M that is required, as well as in CyanConnode's interests.
I hope this helps.
LTI.
