Here is another one to add to the list, which is the original one you posted on 13th August, 2018, but the web address did not work.

If the web-link does not work again, please type-in:- DESCO to implement Tk 1.86b smart meter project. But this project also indicates " smart."

The total value for this particular project, is about GBP 17.3 million approximate, if my calculations are correct. And for approximately 200,000 smart meters? But they do not indicate what solution is required for the project.

There was an earlier tender to the one you posted, that had a " Closing Date " of February 5th, 2018, that was replaced by the tender for March 5th 2018, that you posted.

But the March 5th, 2018 tender, has the introduction of " ..... 130,000 smart meters ...... "

And as one of the requirement's, is that you have to be " ...... a UK registered Company ...... ," who knows what might be happening?

I could not get the link to work last night, but it is okay this morning. The project seems to be definitely going ahead, with a completion date of December 2020. And a value, if my conversion math's are correct, is about GBP 17.25 million, with a mix of single and 3 phase meters.

So a fairly meaty project. If you are successful?

John Cronin mentioned REC during a presentation, about 12 month's ago. And how CyanConnode were included on their Empanelment List, along with three of our Partners. Looking at the list, it may even be more now.

We will have to wait and see, which Companies are on any EESL list, of approved contractors?

Chandigarh, looks like it will be an RF solution. If you look at the Scope of Works, page 11, within the document you posted at 08:44, on Thursday.

From the report:- " For the deployment of smart metering throughout its territory, CED is in the process of building a RF canopy communications network covering approx. 30,000 Smart meters across 32 Sq. Km of its service area sub division - 5 proposed for pilot."

The Tata Power ( TPDDL ) project, seems to be more fluid in what they require. On page 5, of the document I posted at 12:06 yesterday ( Saturday,) under item 2 - Components, it states:- " Communication Card, Network equipments and Head End System. Communication mechanism can be RF/PLC/GPRS/Hybrid/ or any other proven mechanism."

So with 20 million smart electricity meters being tendered for, they seem to be keeping their options open, as to which solution they choose, in any particular area. I doubt any one solution, will be suitable for all areas.

I would imagine that the companies on the REC Empanelment list, will have gone through a process of application, or be recognized in their specific area of expertise, to get on the list initially. REC, like EESL, are procurement agencies. They gather the best companies around, for who they see can provide the best solutions/equipment, that they require.

On the " who decides " issue, I would think there will be input from REC, as it is their Empanelment List. The utility who the contract/project is for and their specific needs/requirements, will need to be taken into account, in this case it would be Tata Power ( TPDDL.) And I would also think there would be input from the Government of India, even though this particular project is for a private utility. As it is the overall Government of India, integrated power initiative, that various utilities and organizations, are trying to implement.

But it is good to know that CyanConnode are on the starting blocks, for two projects, that we know of, for REC.

Sorry for the delay. The minutes of the meeting you posted on Thursday, at 09:07, I believe are for the Chandigarh smart electric meter tender.

The identity of the tender for your 09:31 post, is I believe a project including Tata Power. If you type in the tender information reference, ie:-

EOI No. RECPDCL/TECH/EOI-Smart-Meters/e-EOI/2016-17/3859 it should bring you to another document which gives you the information.

On page 5, there is a reference to " Through this EOI Notice of Procurement, of 20 million meters, in the next 2 years, RECPDCL, along with its technology partner, Tata Power Delhi Distribution Ltd. ( TPDDL ) wants to engage the Solution Providers in different roles, having vast experience in their field .............. "

You should be able to use the same method of cross-referencing, for the Chandigarh project. That's if it works you?

tonyj, As I understand it, the problem in Mysore, is with CT ( Current Transformer's ) not three phase meters, as you have indicated, I posted some information at the beginning of the week, on the ISGF bulletin, July edition, concerning Current Transformer's, which may or may not, answer your question, satisfactorily. Sorry Vas, This Chandigarh project, in connection with the 30,000 approximate ISGF/NSGM in the bulletin, I think is the project from the recorded minutes, information. LTI.

Hello Vas, I posted some information earlier in the week, from the ISGF bulletin, concerning Mysore and Gujarat. There was also some information on some, as yet, none allocated projects, in Chandigarh and two in Maharashtra. The Chandigarh project, from memory, is for approximately 30,000 smart meters and has an involvement from REC. The two in Maharashtra, are for 100,000 + smart meters and do not seem as far advanced as Chandigarh. LTI.
