You are welcome. The Press Release I posted yesterday, does indicate that CyanConnode/Telefonica/Toshiba are looking towards the end of the year, for implementation of SMETS2, to start.

From the report:-

" However, if a percentage of SMETS2 meter installations in " not-spots," is greater than 10%, then CyanConnode's revenue expectations from the Toshiba contract, will increase on a pro-rata basis. CyanConnode expects the roll-out of SMETS2 meters, to gain momentum in the forth quarter of 2018."

I don't know if this is what you are referring too, but it does seem as though progress is being/has been made.

" A close collaborative partnership between CyanConnode, Telefonica and Toshiba, resulted in a solution for second generation smart meters ( SMETS2,) to overcome network challenges to ensure that a smart meter remains " smart ." Telefonica, ( appointed as the preferred SMIP communications service provider, for two thirds of the UK,) promoted CyanConnode's Radio Frequency ( RF ) Machine-To-Machine ( M2M ) technology, to extend the reach of its existing mobile ( cellular ) network, into locations where cellular signal was not available ( not-spots.)

Embedding CyanConnode's technology, into the Toshiba SMETS2 Telefonica Communications Hub, has enabled smart meter to be located in " not-spots."

Here's the important, recognition part, from Anthony Shaw, Telefonica UK Smart Metering Director:- " CyanConnode is one of the very few suppliers, globally, that has the experience and leading-edge technology, to support smart meter deployment in areas where there is no cellular coverage."

Which makes cellular coverage weakness, a potential growth area in many global regions/areas, for CyanConnode.

Good afternoon all,

Despite the Mysore project being first recognized as " completed," and " Application integration completed," in the April Edition of the ISGF Bulletin, it is now recognized in the new " Smart Grid Projects Completed in India " section, as officially completed.

CESC Mysore also get a mention in the Interim Report:-

" Furthermore, CyanConnodes technology is already integrated into the largest number of deployments in India and its deployment in Chamundeshwari Electricity Supply Corporation ( CESC ) project in Mysore, is being showcased by Government Ministers, as a model site."

Also, under the " New Tenders for Smart Metering " section, of the ISGF Bulletin, there is a new tender requirement for UGVCL, for single phase and 3 phase meters. The submission date was 27th August, 2018.

We are in total agreement that volume roll-out is essential. But CyanConnode are treading a fundamentally different path to EESL. And have been doing for some time.

And why would CyanConnode have to advise the market, on a pilot in Kerala? CyanConnode have not advised about any pilot project's, for some time. And it has not stopped the order development of the Company/Group.

We have had this conversation before, but here goes.

There were some key manufacturers that did not enter into the EESL tender(s). Landis&Gyr, Secure Meters and HPL India, all declined an invitation to the EESL " party," raising technical issues. ( The tariff structure of pre-paid meters.)

The original EESL tender, from what I can remember, had no requirement for RF. So no requirement for CyanConnode.

The report also mentions about:-

" The meter industry is also sceptical, on the amount of meters in a single tender." The report goes on to say " Typically, it takes a year to install maximum 500,000 to 1 million meters. Here, UP alone has an order for 10 million pre-paid meters and 5 million smart meters."

As reported, it says " UP has an order for 10 million pre-paid meters and 5 million smart meters." It does not say the pre-paid meters are " smart."

In June 2018, the Union Power Minister, Mr. R.K. Singh commented that " All electricity meters to be smart pre-paid, in 3 years."

As I have said before, EESL may still have a few twists and turns to come, with their tender format.

Kerala is an important tender. But not as large as the previous EESL tenders. Has Kerala started yet? I thought it was just at the tender pre-qualification stage?

Orders from Iran, Bangladesh, Ukraine and various contracts in India, Europe and the UK aside, we will have to wait and see about other future invitations.
