You mention an interesting point, and something that SD has alluded to previously - a raise but *only* to buy something that is either producing or late stage.

This is actually something I've been keen on. I am of the belief that Hav will come on stream as to plan in '24 - we are expanding our footprint in the Paterson on the back of knowing that cashflow will be tremendous down the line. However the niggle is always for me if the project gets pushed out by enough to stall the start of the cashflow, it starts to put pressure on. Having something that is generating a little cash ahead of schedule would be contingency against cash burn, which in my head was what I thought may possibly happen.

When the RIO announement came, it looks like GGP have picked up a high quality project, but it's exporation again. It looks fantastic but it was 'earlier stage' than I was expecting - but on the other hand, it means to take on a project of this scale and future cost, SD's confidence is strong.

I agree with the below comments - if the demand is as high as expected then you put it out to auction - if the demand isn't as high as expected then you snap up the best steady deal you can get.

Loftmonkey I'd get some questions prepared for SD for when that town hall happens. I find it strange how you incessantly rant about the share price and management team if you're a holder, which even in a limited way may encourage others to either sell or not buy, thus potentially damaging yourself in the process. There are many on here who have had or still have concerns ( what investor doesn't ) but manage to word it in a way that doesn't make you sound like a perpetual fudster.

Hi SheffOwls, there were a number of stipulations in the RNS regarding the Share Buy Back - it may be to do with the 25% of volume rule or something?

Dividends work out about 14% from this buy in price, you would think this would be an incentive for some buying pressure.

Give Plode some credit, it must take quite some effort to hunt out any morsel of negativity regardless of the day that's been.

Not sure if my first entry is too high, but I like that there is a couple of months build up to the divi, there's a major buyer building a stake, and there is a clear plan.

We are certainly not Newmont's main concern, but we're also not a "blip". They have some significant decisions to make re: Telfer which affects their situation in the Pilbara.

I'm hoping by about August that things will start becoming clearer. I was also interested that SD said he was hoping to release an RNS before he came to the Town Hall. I believe RNSs usually are only released if the information could have an impact on the companies valuation ( correct me if I am wrong ) so I'd be interested to know what this is.

Firstly Loftmonkey, you are speaking for people who are making their own decisions. It's extremely patronising to suggest that people have "blind faith" in SD, or they are "too attached" to a share. I doubt many companies on Aim have had the same high level of research put in as this one and it really grates on me when posters claim they are in some way more analytical in their decision making and others are just somehow swept up on a wave of emotion. It couldn't be further from the truth.

Meanwhile the company caught up in a multi faceted fight at the moment - it's on the undercard of the Newcrest Newmont head-to-head...and GGP are waiting in the wings to see who out of a wide range of possibilites they may face in their match. This is the preparation stage, and it's tough.

I think I see what you are saying.

However I would still suggest that yield is factual wheras a forward yield is a projection. If the dividend declaration is ahead of expectations then surely this could increase buyer interest and impact positively on share price.

Anyway, lets hope that it's a good one - that I guess we all can agree on!
