There have been a few good posts on catalysts recently - I do think Newmont enthusing over a retained Havieron could be a major one, if that is how it pans out.

Hopefully there will be a few interviews following this RNS that can fill in some of the gaps left in the communication.

The question is has Rh bottomed? If so there is an argument to be adding / drip feeding at this level.

Pleased with this news - definite progress - only fly in the ointment was the wording of "will shortly begin the commissioning" rather than have "begun the commissioning" which is probably just me nit-picking.

Hopefully a decent rise back towards 2.5p today and then onwards and upwards as this phase is progressing.

It's an interesting dilemma this one.

1. Anyone who *only* gets the state pension doesn't pay any tax on it anyway as they are below the personal allowance threshold.

2. As summit points out, anyone who gets state pension and is earning the *high* rate of tax due to either still working or having a large DB pension or even a large DC pension will end up about 4K richer from not having to pay that tax

Alternatively there are many that would benefit hugely from this, for instance those who already receive just over the personal allowance with a private pension or part time job and thus all the state pension is taxed.

I'm not arguing for or against, but my point is it is not a one size fits all argument.

So my point is it's not as straightforward as it seems.

BCD, if I may join in with this discussion - the scarcity element is one of the key reasons I do not invest in Bitcoin. Bitcoin may be the most known cryptocurrency, but although there is a limited amount of Bitcoin, there is no limit to the amount of crypto. The speed and quantity of new currencies for me negate the scarcity argument. It's not for me, although I have no issues with others investing in whatever they want. We're all here to make money etc.

Hi Bald Eagle, maybe I should have simply said "when inflation starts to drop" as opposed to "progress" - as you say, it implies that there is a proper plan and it is working, which Im not convinced by! I do think inflation will subside and that will boost insurers as a group ( DLG suffered massively due to inflation causing their figures to be very poor ) - I think inflation will come down because the main initial cause was fuel prices, but after that it's been companies jumping on the bandwagon and hiding behind that to increase revenues. So I think things'll come down, but not (obviously) anywhere near to where they were.

Agree Speedy. We've also got an updated MRE before that, which I'm hoping will be a significant catalyst for the SP.

I'm also hoping that the new MRE will prove that Newcrest shouldn't have used a Belgian shot-putter to do that hurdle rate calculation.

...when there *are* finally...

I'm not one to advise ( and I certainly shouldn't if you know my buy-in price ) but I do have a sneaky feeling that the insurers will get a bit of a lift when there finally figures that reveal that there has been significant progress on tackling inflation.

Lets hope that news actually does materialise! There are a few signs that supermarkets are starting to ease prices, the energy price cap is coming down and the pump prices have been off their peak for some time. So at some point these will have to feed into some of the metrics.

Ha Mush I know what you mean - the potential to turn this into a multi billion pound company in a few years is almost palpable - but it's the waiting and hoping that's the hard bit! It's like in those films where the protagonist presses their face up to the outside of a window and can see all the lights shining inside, the expensive decor (absolutely none of it click-and-collected from Argos) and all the exciting things that are going on inside - but we have to wait for the end of the movie to see if their fortunes change.

I want retail to buy on en masse. I want everyone to buy en masse - that way the share price will go up - or have I got this system all wrong?

Cheers Panama much appreciated. I was leaning towards that as an explanation - I guess they can't really comment at the moment with the massive takeover transaction going on, but the wording intruiged me!

Just a query:

That's a great comment - I've not heard Newmont mention Havieron specifically - have I either missed some news or am I misunderstanding that quote?
