In the Interim Results for both 2021 (27th Aug) & 2022 ( 5 Sep ), the interim dividend was declared.

I wonder if there is any wiggle room to increase the dividend payment this time around?

Hi Ham, I harvested my potato about a month ago.

As you can tell I wasn't a very succesful year, although I only have an area about the size of a dustbin lid to grow on - so three plants and one potato. Or 1/3 of a potato per plant.

However, my runner beans grow like weeds - mainly because no one likes them, not even the pets.

Not read this particular board much for a while, but I think the RNS today was good news - Wyloo showing their backing. It feels like we've spent a couple of years fending off everything whilst trying to get across the financial landscape, running from explorer to producer. We can see the other side coming into view now!

Picked up a little now.

My prediction is that the UK will get better than expected August inflation figures on Sept 13th, followed by the Bank holding interest rates on 21st. If this is correct then Lloyds could benefit from both. I think we'll be much higher come the 13th anyway. Obviously just my view. I picked some up at 41p today and some a little while ago at 42.24p.

Yeah I think underwhelming is the right word. I've actually disposed this morning, mainly because with the valuation there doesn't appear to be much upside wheras I think there are opportunities elsewhere in the market rather than waiting this one out.

Hi LTI yes I realise that - trackers & individuals on SVRs etc etc.

So if anyone is on one of those, they've already been affected by interest rate rises, and will further be affected, so thus the same group of people. In terms of mortgage holders, only those ending on fixed deals as time goes forward will be added to that list. Which is why the earlier interest rate hikes have yet to have their full effect and thus I don't see the need ( and I believe some on the committe don't see the need ) to increase further at this time. But we will see come 21st Sept!

I'll go against the grain and say I've got a sneaky feeling that this time they will hold interest rates.

A couple of other major economies have now done so - and some members of the committe do appear to realise that increasing the rates only amplify a reduction in spending on the subset of mortgage holders who have already been affected, and it's only as the months tick by that further groups of mortgage holders come to the end of fixed deals. So what has already been done has yet to take full effect. It's like turning 'round a barge so they may want to at least stop going forward.
