I thought your post was interesting. I've been going through the thinking which includes:

1. A big pharma would probably just take over if they could (thanks to RM, that will be more difficult or it will get shareholders a better deal).
2. Why would Scancell collaborate with Oxford Uni at this point? I'm struggling to see the benefit.
3. Pfizer has already said it will file AFTER the USA election - admittedly if they are first to market, it may build up their war chest and enable them to eliminate competition (see point 1).
4. J&J, who have halted their trial to investigate an unexplained illness, and others (including Gates Foundation manufacturing) may be a way forward as you say. Lest we forget, there are a couple of dozen other DNA/mRNA projects out there looking to solve the same problem.

Right now there are many possibilities. Scancell believe they have found something and getting it into CT is the next big thing.

Well, we do know that at least 2 of the big trials have had issues which have halted trials.

We also know the Pfizer has stated that they won't be seeking emergency approval by the FDA before the election.

These factors mean that the delay between a 1st Gen and and 2nd Gen vaccine may be greatly reduced, particularly if Scancell / others can put into place some of the agile testing processes/tech others have used to press ahead more quickly.

Thank you for mentioning about further investment - I'm still working out what I will do. I will be mulling over it through the weekend.

I find it interesting the Pfizer have taken it off the pre-election ramp and more importantly that they are maintaining the bar set by the FDA. If the efficacy bar still set at 50% in the USA (versus whatever level WHO have recommended)?

My personal conspiracy theory is that Redmile also probably had word that two of the leading Covid19 trials had issues in terms of efficacy as well as "side effects". Taking such a big stake means they can either takeover themselves and make it difficult for one of the other pharmas to do so unless RM are in the frame.

Sheer idle speculation.

For those on the IG platform, you should today have received an email and open lines for the OO allocation. Their wording doesn't appear to allow us to apply for additional shares, so when you respond, make your intentions clear.

My allusion re offshoring funds was only to counter that. I don't know any banks paying even 10% on deposits, so I'm sure every cash rich Treasury Department is looking for ways to hedge against a dramatic fall in the £. How does one lobby the LSE board to let Inanco back on the board? I really don't want to dip into ADVFN every day - life is too short and it is not a place I would recommend to those new to Scancell or new to holding shares.

Nom, I remember having "discussions" about masks last February, when I (at the time rather naively asserted) that at least they would cut down the amount of and possibly the radius of expulsions, even if the inherent gaps would let some of the virus through.

It may be that new treatment protocols will help reduce the death rates. (There will be some difficult decisions ahead for pro-lifers who want the treatment Trump received.)

Is this the 2nd wave? I'm not sure. I wasn't expecting the 2nd wave until after XMAS, but the lax "lockdown" coupled with anti-masker/covid denier behaviour means were almost 400k new cases of those who could develop long covid complications. I think that this is a continuation of the the first wave.

Any thoughts?
