The latest Investing Matters Podcast episode featuring Jeremy Skillington, CEO of Poolbeg Pharma has just been released. Listen here.
@Maninshed: I'd summarise the perception there as: (a) surprised; (b) speculation that this was (perhaps) a condition from Orion as part of their refinancing package; (c) that FM had done an outstanding job in building the business; (d) time was ripe for re-directing the main challenges ahead for the company (including better comms, adherence to promises, and gaining institutional support); (e) the BMN story is bigger than any one individual; (f) Craig Coltman comes with solid experience and is hopefully the right man the tasks ahead.
So, surprise, but tempered with optimism. Along the lines of this board's general sentiments, I'd say.
... now being reported.

This excellent new video, released by the company yesterday, may have escaped the notice of some amongst the excitement it generated on this board last night. It's well worth watching. It may mark a new chapter in the company's efforts to advertise its business. Is it possible that they've not made this sort of product before because they had no need to: only now with the step up in production, and debt largely behind them, that they want to bring more attention to the *company*? Why now, and why the almost exclusive focus on the vanadium side of the company than the electrolyte/energy storage side? JSE listing in the offing, perhaps? The timing would seem right.

Very good! Serious PR!
Easy enough to distinguish buys from sells today. Ignoring the final UT, and the single small transaction at the mid-price, there were 1.29 million buys, 0.78 million sells. Still small numbers.
Many thanks to the excellent posters continuing to post here.

I'm expecting (as per last year):
* end April: Q1 2023 operational update
* end June: Final results for year ended 31 Dec 2022
* end July: Q2 2023 and H1 2023 operational update
I have lost track of any specific announcements (e.g. BELCO) that we might be expecting. Has anything else been signalled?

Rechargeable nanofluid electrodes for high energy density flow batteries, Timofeeva et al, Argonne National Lab

which was referenced in:

This sounds interesting, but while it talks about their use in flow batteries (and increasing the energy density to exceed that of Li-ion), the paper does not mention vanadium explicitly. I can't judge whether it's relevant.

So much for Golden Crosses, converging moving averages, and Fibonacci retracements!
I liked this from https://www.raconteur.net/finance/investing/the-pros-and-cons-of-a-chartist-trading-strategy/
Is it possible to trade by spotting patterns in charts? Warren Buffett, the Sage of Omaha himself, had a simple verdict: no. He said, “I realised that technical analysis didn’t work when I turned the chart upside down and didn’t get a different answer.” He stuck to the polar opposite – fundamentals investing, where only the long-term financial prospects of a company are considered – and ended up the world’s richest man.
Battery storage fire safety requires ‘integrated, standardised approach’ - Energy Storage News

Thank you for those thoughts. I was (very) surprised to see another major electrolyte facility being constructed in the same area. There must be huge confidence that demand for it will be strong. It will be interesting to see whether there is some connection with BMN/BE, and in what form.

My notes (with approx timings): The Q&A part was the most interesting, covering future vanadium prices; load shedding in SA (25:00); current inventory (26:00); sales volumes this year will be higher than production volumes; discussion of jump from 250MW to 2500 MW in energy storage demand not constrained by capacity of Belco (30:00); land for mini-grid around Vanchem is being investigated (32:00); relation with Garnet following court action (which BMN won; 33:30); what has happened since the set-up of Bushveld Energy in 2015 (34:00) especially wrt Cellcube/Enerox/Mustang? Answer from FM: BMN invested in Invinity (RedT/Avalon), then sold that at a profit, in order to focus on Cellcube (together with Garnet); first to build electrolyte plant outside of China and Reading (UK), pioneered a rental product (used for ESO Oxford) + mini-grid at Vametco... Process to carve out BE is underway and on track.

Pdub, HarChris, and fatbanker: thank you, all useful comments to help consolidate my understanding of the company going forward. I suppose there is no need to dispose of Imoloto until main market/JSE listing is a more immediate prospect.
