If it wasn't for reporting of a OEM roll out delay (& they stressed in great detail that it wasnt a cancellation) which could in fact prove to be VERY short term considering the Xmas buying season... this would have been looked on as very encouraging progress. How can shipments to multiple customers for revenue be termed as disappointing? This is great news for Carclo.

CAR will almost certainly miss the lower end of the projection. To hit it ATML would have to operate at full capacity during 2014 1Q. Since no-one knows, not even ATML know, if they can do that, the projection is meaningless. BUT it doesn't matter. ATML are "shipping to multiple customers from theor Colorado facility". That means the OEM's want it, that means revenue is on its way, it means the quality is right, it means the price is right, it answers any remaking questions on whether XSense can be successful. ATMEL were VERY specific in stating that this one specific MAJOR customer is NOT going away, NOT choosing another variation of cit & NOT going back to ITO. It is merely a DELAY in roll out...NOT a cancellation. That delay COULD be only VERY short term. The Nexus 5 release has also been 'delayed' ... how strange!!!!

XSense shipments from Colorado for revenue HAVE commenced! The earnings call will start later, about 10.30 GMT. Also looking forward to a Carclo RNS in the morning.

Lancygeo... yes quite right, I forgot that Carclo are one of those who don't do 3 monthly interims. If you like to compare the financials details don't disregard what Carclo point out about what happens in various parts of the year, its an important point which is why they always makei it, always compare like with like periods of the previous year. Historically Carclo's trading patterns mean earnings in the final 6 months are substantialy greater than the first, although with companies in Carclo's position that is always subject to changing circumstances!

Yes... a good report.... BUT in order to fly we STILL need PROOF. The market will still be waiting until a definite order is received before it spreads its wings!

Tomorrow 7am is my guess for the TS... Loads of differing reports now on-line for the Galaxy Round which is also going to be announced in South Korea tomorrow. Coincidence? Maybe! Samsung have been developing their own curved touch solution named Youm. In further reports Acer have announced that Cambrious Technology who have developed silver nanowire is their chosen screen supplier for their tables, laptops & all in ones for the next 6 months.

Sharpe11... dunno why your link to the report about the Xiomie mobile has gone missing. This Chinese phone is a very popular cheap end of the market phone over there & its good buisness for Atmel to have won the touch controlor for it but unfortunately not the touch screen... so nothing in for Carclo.

Reflector: no... that's the interim results which is merely a 3 monthly book keeping exercise! Some like to compare a quarters financial results with the last quarters... I've never understood why because the start & cut of dates over such a short period gives very skewed results... Some companies don't bother. What is due this week is the 6 monthly Trading Statement, it is usually accompanied by some 'forward looking ' comments from the CEO.

Yup... & if Carclo run true to form where waiting is the name of the game... then close of business on Friday looks to be odds on favourite! :)

Statements to the market can sometimes be reserved untill the market closes... & we all know how Carclo like to keep us waiting!

.... due out Oct 30th. The service manual in draft form including ALL the specs, part numbers & pictures of the manual have been leaked. I have heard from a separate American source that the manual contains part numbers that reference Atmel's touch sensor module!

... Also worth mentions for those who read the transcript that the OEM PC manufacturer they refer to is wildly assumed to be Dell (but that has not been officially admitted)... It's also referred to as one of the Fortune 100 index companies. Dell WAS the only PC maker one of those so hence the speculation. Intel is the other one refered to.... & just like Amtel, are UNXL's ecosystem partner. I say WAS about Dell because Dells shareholders agreed an offer last week to take the company private! It should also be said that Kodak's agreement with UNXL is NOT exclusive... they are also working with a silver mesh maker & have stated that they are willing to work & use their world leadership experience in film with any other metal manufacturer.

I'm not sure about Samsung, the curved note 3 (IF all the speculation about it is correct) seems is going to be a limited addition version that will only be initially released in Korea. Also of course Samsung have been showcasing THEIR own version of a flexible screen... named Yump. As far as I'm aware no one actually knows who won the touch sensor for the main version that was released over here 25th Sep. & the USA release I believe is due tomorrow (4th) We know ATML didn't win the controllor but no-one as yet has mentioned the sensor. Samsung seem to like sharing things around their suppliers so I've been quietly wondering if in fact XSense is the main event in conjunction with the Gear watch... THAT would be very nice! LG, as a brand... is (in my opinion) more likely to bring out a curved device than anyone else, they like to be a bit different if not better... but I dunno.... my thoughts are that curved is not that important at the moment but as soon as curved is mentioned all thoughts obviously go to wondering if its XSense because its flexible... where the truth is, a slightly curved screen is nothing new. Even ITO can be slightly curved... & silver mesh is just as flexible as copper. Interesting that Levono have announced that they will be shipping a 20 incher shortly that will have a silver mesh sensor! The competition is out there, mainly low grade copper mesh from Asia so nothing to be overly concerned about but looks like UNXL/Kodak are still in the mix too.
