Value too high for Bed'n Isa, so looks like someone got fed up with their old broker and got a new one.

we're half way through the afternoon and so far only 3m or so shares sold under panic pressure - not such a good strategy it seems. I would not be surprised to see a spike between now and Thursday, as long as trading levels are up MMs make money regardless of the direction of travel. If I was into trading I may have taken up a million in order to make 50%+ in short order.

About 1.4m traded - so thats only 700k sold.
I.e. very few willing to let go, so MMs try to panic potential sellers . When that does not work they will have to put pressure on the buyers to pay more - but that does not win them friends within the "high roller" community. Far better to frighten the little guys, and take the shirt off their backs.

Wolf, that prediction was based on 25th Oct with 5.75p being the days high point, and a steady decline over the following 12 months. The sp is now higher than 5.75, so that prediction fell at the first hurdle. The guy needs Santa to bring him a new crystal ball, meanwhile I'll hold for something higher that 7.9. A lot can happen in the remaining 47 weeks. We shall see.

We live in an inexact world. At the end of Q2 (H1) is the financial year-end, so I would hope something tangible will be included in the reports.

Depends what return you want. I hope to see 10p by Christmas and 15-20p during Q1 once the trials start. When the results come back in q2, depending on the degree to which each product attains its objective, she sky is the limit (50p-£2?)

Just a bit of stiring the pot. No negative news, so just some mischief to get the market moving, and earn a bit of dosh for the MMs to pay the wine bar bill on Friday. I think we have 7-8 weeks of quiet, then the trials kick off and we'll be back in the 9p seats. As per presentation, the wheeling and dealing with prospective partners will start soon after trials are running, so Feb could see 20p.

Generally, the only motive for consolidation is raising money from an institutional investor. I do not think our BoD care 2 hoots about them and I cite our HNWI's as evidence. The BoD are more likely to aim for the heart of some major Pharmas and by-pass the institutions altogether. Having been involved in about 80 corporate mergers/takeovers my BoD were only interested in their valuation of the target business, and how the products complemented our own. Sometimes we only bought out a particular division of the target company that was of interest (thus avoiding a sell-off or write-off of the bits we did not want. I do not believe for a moment that Sar will consolidate in this paperless age where filing copies of share certificates has been relegated to history.

At £90/share I would not mind swapping 10 of my Sar shares for 1 of AZNs. If we are to be bought out, what would be the point of SAR going through an expensive consolidation - it makes no sense.

All tentative aproaches to date would have come through Hybridian, so having another broker like Peel Hunt could be a case of keeping the right arm as farbaway as possible from the left. Do we know if PH have any major Pharmas with deep pockets under their wings? Reminds me of when I got gazzumped when a house I'd made an offer on had a better one via a different agency. The vendor was laughing all the way to the bank - I was not. Some of the BoD are not at their first rodeo so realise a bit of competition could add a billion to an auction price.

The one thing we all want sight of is the events timetable, and the most closely guarded confidential document is the very same.

Absolutely right! (Alt. HNWI's have stepped up to increase the bandwidth of R & D as well as speeding up the critical path to trials.)
I can understand why they play it cool - they want to go at their own pace and not be pressured into hitting (or missing) targets of their own making.

Spending too much time reading BBs lately, but SNG put out an RNS today about a Ph3 covid trial - do we know if they have a comparable product to SAR? sometimes first-to-market trumps best-to-market, but others are better placed to comment on the science than me.

The MMs tend to let the pendulum swing haphazzardly during the day (that's how they make money) but bring it back close to opening price by CoB - otherwise they queer thier own pitch for tomorrow. If they could push it up to 10% by CoB and there was no RNS on the next day, the sp would fall heavily, but to raise or lower by 1 or 2 % each day gives they another opportunity to rip us off tomorrow - this is where LTHs win out because they yend to hold for longer periods by refusing to play daily mind games.

Of course it is. Brokers cannot rely on an algorithm to decide whether their investor/client has just bought or sold 1000 shares. There will be a debit/credit flag against every transaction but the stock exchange have decided not to divulge it. It would put the market makers on an equal footing to investors - and their whole business model would then need a re-design, and it would be the end of multi-million bonus payments.
The MMs play with loaded dice, it is not in their interest to change it.

Spurs, are you suggesting it is not irresponsible for an unvaxed tradesperson should be able to infect people with impunity (or covid) without a care for the well being of unsuspecting customers. Do you have a Duty of Care exeption card?
