LSEast are 20 minutes behind, so confusion will be rife today. I appreciate the report from RMM, however if there is no plan for a CR, then why are we going through this pain? Such a raise will come but it may be months away, probably mid H2. It could take weeks before sp stabilises so II's will sit on their laurels for a while before they will enter into discussions with BoD regarding the level of funding they will provide and when. They cannot just dump a load of BP shares to buy SAR, that would be unethical - the strategy will be a mix of shares and withdrawal from reserves spread over weeks and (imo) will happen close to the commencement of trials later this year - so not expecting a spike in sp for a while.

If we close at 4p on Monday, we should open at £2 on Tuesday. The Big question is how will Tuesday end? £1.5 or £2.5?

As a veteran of 80 corporate takeovers, the sp has little to do with what a potential owner/partner will pay - more to do with potential earnings, profit and synergies with existing product range. Granted, it could influence an II if their charter forbids penny shares.
I tend to agree/suspect another corporate is dictating timings - depending on their projected Year End Balance Sheet they may want to buy-in in March or maybe April - depending on cap gains or losses or other tax allowances which may be applicable. I have been in situations where part of a company is acquired in the last week of the Tax Year, and the rest a week later. If the BOB have to shed some shares, it is a consideration.

The consolidation exchange rate is fixed at 50:1 so as long as the sp stays above 2p (or 2.3 to allow for post-con slippage) then we will have a £1+ share. However, in view of the market turbulance due to Putin putin the bootin, can it be deferred for a couple of weeks at this 11th hour?

If an II/VC buys in for 20-30% they will want their own NED on the BOD. This could also happen if a major pharma comes along with a view to a full T/O once they know enough to go the whole hog.
Doubt this will happen in 2022 though.

It's been said before, "ignore the intraday movements". We climbed to touching distance of 5p which would be ideal for pre-consolidation. But MMs want money too, so like to stir the pot. It will creep up again by Friday, starting to turn within 24hrs. But on Aim, nothing is certain

News will be stiffled until consolidation is a done deal. The (delayed) news will then drive an upsurge in sp, coupled with some II investment which will reinforce the argument for consolidation. It is all smoke and mirrors which creates a fog around the should we/ shouldn't we consolidate debate - but the only real benefit is to stabilise the sp, as II's are not so susceptible to knee jerk reactions ad the general punter (there again they are fed better quality information in advance than us plebs).
Usually consolidation reduces a holding by 10-20%, BUT, it really depends on what happens within the following few weeks and how the Big Boys react. Tox reports, CR strategy, milestone payments, grant awards, licensing, clinical trials schedule - personally I had hoped these things would come first, but the powers that be have been persuaded to start with consolidation - if they screw up we will sink, but it is our choice to sail on their boat.

Technically, they have until Monday to remove the TH, but they are usually a 12-36 hour thing. Most probably it will be a done deal by the time London opens though ASX will not resume until their market opens next. AIM will keep trading throughout, but some will bale out at dawn and scramble to get back in after lunch (on a rising market). Beware early tree shaking.

You miss the point. He has lost nothing. He converted cash into X million shares. Until he converts them back into cash he continues to have X million shares. Sadly I only have Y million shares, which I hope to sell at least some when I judge the time is right but probably way, way the other side of consolidation.

We are not going start to finish in a single bound. Lex Luther will ensure there are hakf a dozen stages (sp rises) on the way up.

The name of the MMs game is "keep it moving". They take it down, then bring it back to start position. Next day they take it up, then back to start barely moves more than 1% a day in any direction.

Just to emphasise the irrelevance of MC in a takeover context, out of 80 or so acquisitions I covered less than 35% were quoted companies. Some were privately owned, some were divisions of larger corporates (like Smiths Industries) so the MC did not even exist.
