This is just pretend politics.
Pretend to be dissatisfied with a sitting PM to give the impression that MPs are determined to find a better way. They are not. All they want is to keep busy retaining their cushy jobs.
To retain a PM who has been given a vote of no confidence in the process of reconstituting a new politically effective alliance demonstrates just how self serving these clowns are.
For over 8 years they have pretended to engage with the company's application to mine at Kallak. I reality they have zero engagement with the application, endlessly recycling bland statements and concocting illusory obstacles.
Apart from being masters of pretence, the swedes are also very skilled at denial, particularly the massive criminal and social destabilisation of the once placid country by unfettered immigration.
Sweden is a basket case and will ultimately be indulging in the same inept behaviours as the country goes down the pan completely.

Make no mistake, every Swedish MP will have been putting in a shift every day for the past week. Sadly, none of their energy has been exerted for anything other than their grubby pursuit of power and the preservation of their jobsworth careers.

Baylan has already lost his own no confidence vote when the KU report was published 7 months ago and it had no impact.
This no confidence vote has no direct connection to Kallak so will also have no impact.

Investors quite properly want a return on their money.
After 8 years and 2 months, that return is long overdue.
Posts on this board are consequently informed by what should happen. What ought to happen. What the law dictates must happen. But geeing each other up with the currency of the moral high ground has proved meaningless for the whole of the waiting time.
The swedes are not compelled to decide on Kallak by anything other than the barometer of a minister’s political value to himself.
Budge should realise that this is Baylan’s Achilles heel and keep probing and pushing by all means possible. It should be his prime focus.
Budge’s strategy of waiting and sending the odd letter / email does not register with Baylan.

The word “ opposition “ in Sweden is not applicable, in my opinion. The parties simply represent slightly different shades of the same colour. The ultimate aim of all parties is to not cause any conflict and maintain the status quo and everyone’s superannuated political career.
How else could the Greens with just 4% of the vote, and falling, appear to control this paralysis. The other parties have to be compliant for their own selfish, personal reasons. Utterly shameful.

Baylan is a politician, and politics has been allowed to scupper BEM and Kallak. The only way to derail Baylan is to jeopardise his political career. The media assault option backed up by the threat of legal action has to be seriously considered, especially now as Baylan will be jockeying for his next ministerial sinecure at the elections, now just over a year away.

The RNS this morning is the usual chronology of the company’s blameless behaviour and the claiming of the moral high ground.Sadly, the moral high ground is not a position of strength in this saga.Budge says he is seeking legal advice on the subject of early release of market sensitive information, not on the illegality of the government’s handling of the application and spurious involvement of UNESCO.He will do nothing.

Please don’t forget that Budge welcomed the UNESCO referral. A stance which is indescribably naive. What did he expect them to do with such a generous gift. It was a free hit.
He has also repeated in several RNS that the company is in continuous dialogue with the Swedish government. Now that is simply not credible.
Should have gone legal years ago. The law exists to support and protect both parties, not just the government.
