Since Budge’s comments almost 3 years ago excusing the swedish government’s endless delays and accepting the upcoming election ( then still 6 months away! ) would mean more delays, my faith in him as the man to get this over the line has progressively evaporated.
The months since the UNESCO referral were to be expected, and I have been patient in believing Budge would at least keep investors informed. Still nothing from him, which is unacceptable even to the happiest clapper, surely?
His PR assault ( embarrassing in it’s amateurishness ) when he wanted investors cash last year is in stark contrast to his visibility when investors need something from him. Communication is a two way process in my book.

I said 6 months ago that the referral would be many months without reply as UNESCO is yet another lumbering and ineffective, money consuming bureaucracy.
As always, my “ negativity “ was deemed heretical by the like is Suzy2.
Why else would Baylan do it?

8 years ago Beowulf mining submitted an application to mine iron ore at Kallak. As of today, there is still no sign of a decision on this straightforward administrative process.

8 years ago the company Deliveroo had not even begun trading. It did not exist.
Today Deliveroo floats on the UK stockmarket with a value of over £7 billion.

The Churchill analogy, I admit, was a provocative one. However, an appeased bully will always be a bully until confronted, and Budge is allowing himself to be bullied by a shambolic bureaucracy.
As you know, I don’t believe in my lifetime the concession will be awarded to BEM ( I am 65 btw j.
Two comments I would make:
1. Should a concession be awarded, it will be so strung up with caveats and warnings that the subsequent environmental approval will be long and tortuous, I firmly believe the SP would not achieve 20p
2. I would congratulate all lth’s for their doggedness ( especially Eric Draven ) and hope they feel the wait has been worth it.

I don’t believe Kallak’s woes will have any material effect at a general election.
There is a proposed coal mine on the Cumbria coast which is as divisive as Kallak, but it is in a sparsely populated area which hardly anyone is familiar with, like Kallak. Not even on the radar as an issue nationally.
As far as hoping Budge is active behind the scenes. Same applies as I’ve previously stated. It ain’t working, and, after 8 years, to continue to adopt the same approach is madness.

There is no process. Make no mistake, this situation is adversarial and the swedes sre playing it dirty.
Budge's Neville Chamberlain stance is not having any effect. More Winston Churchill please. Long overdue.

Budge arrived in October 2014, 18 months after the application was submitted, so the decision was already overdue when he arrived.
At the time, that's the only thing on his plate. Six and a half years later, the decision is still awaited, and, crucially, the possibility of a decision is weighed down by UNESCO's spurious involvement, which he welcomes! FFS
Just to remind everyone, the swedes own published documentation on mining applications states unequivocally that the process takes 6 - 9 months.
Any CEO is judged on results. There haven't been any results, just endless cr*p and waffle.

But with only backward progress on the concession, being right is a currency with no value.

The only thing Baylan wants to do is nothing. He is perfectly cut out for it and backed by the PM to avoid making the decision.
Takayama’s plan for BEM and the Sami to hatch a plan to suit both parties in order to try and force Baylan’s hand looks to me to be both plausible and long overdue.
Sadly, the Sami have thus far implacably refused to engage with the company in the certain knowledge that, politically, the greens are the key, and hold the balance of power, which paralyses Baylan into his rubbish handling of the application, as was Damberg.
This fragmented, dysfunctional form of democracy will certainly persist beyond the next election, and, quite probably for several elections.
It seems to me Budge no longer expends energy on Kallak at all, as he has realised it would be wasted.

Why should I stop stating opinions just because you don't agree?
Be honest, what irritates you is that I have been, and continue to be right, year after year.

Prince Harry has more balls than Budge, so however necessary the legal option is, or has been for years, he won't take it.
Waiting for a decision long since ceased to be sensible.
The decision has been made, and every pretend debate and enquiry conveys that decision:
There will be no decision.
Stop agonising over every article about swedish mining, the heritage, the Fraser Institute, the green argument, blah blah blah. When no decision is ever forthcoming, it is all so irrelevant.

The decision is mired in nonsense today more than it has ever been in eight long years.
No pressure on Baylan whatsoever. Lofven is right behind him and the KU report was meaningless as have been the recent parliamentary debates.
