However, in his 3 years in post, Baylan has been unprofessional, uncommunicative, unresponsive, evasive, duplicitous, full of half truths and empty encouragement.
He has had more than the required amount and quality of information in the company’s application to have made the decision at any time in his tenure.
The law pertaining to mining applications is clear and the company’s submission meets all criteria.
He hasn’t, and he won’t make a decision, because neither a yes nor a no is of use to him in his little bubble of self aggrandisement.
He has been and continues to be a fraud and a charlatan. A disgrace to his ministerial status.
I am not surprised he is astonished that he has been allowed to operate in high office. As vacuous as he is, even he knows he’s massively out of his depth.

He had no intention of making a decision before his announcement, so he will not give a second’s thought to it between now and November. He will be coasting into his next sinecure while trousering a handsome severance cheque and pension benefits.
He has all the statesman like qualities of a part time librarian.

And how long will it take the next incompetent bureaucratic clone to find the application file and give it his / her consideration?
No chance of a decision until after the next election, with or without Baylan.
Plus the new bod has the age old excuse of “ I wasn’t here when all this happened “

Baylan has had the comapny’s Comments for a whole week. Nothing new or unexpected in those comments.
In fact, there has /even nothing new for over 5 years for the swedes to consider. So when is your next “ imaginary “ deadline?

However, this is all old stuff which has been in various statements over the past few years, as was yesterday’s RNS.
Of course, it should be sufficiently compelling for Baylan to make a decision, but it clearly won’t be.
The only way a concession will ever be forthcoming is after next year’s election, and only if the greens are sidelined. Those are very significant ifs, aren’t they?

What difference?
The only difference would be that we would have to put up with more rubbish presentations from the CEO as he grovels for more cash.

He is not hiding. He has the full support of his boss.
As far as any perceived pressure from the KU report. It is 9 months since it’s publication and it had no effect. The fall in the Fraser Institute rankings has been going on for years and clearly is of little concern.
CEOs can bang the drum all they like. Until and unless they can unseat Baylan, it’s all just noise.
Baylan has all the support he needs to coast through to the next election unscathed.
The 6th September is just another in a long line of illusory pinchpoints which long termers actually still believe will be a game changer. They never are and this next date will pass with a whimper and the saga will limp on.
Budge meanwhile continues to steal a handsome living for achieving nothing in 7 years in post.

Lofven’s name will be on the ballot paper in 12 months time. Just chill. Nothing will happen before the election, and most probably after it as well.

Kurt diesn’t Need to do anything. His stated strategy is wait and see. And with an estimated £5.5m in the bank, his salary is secure for the next 2 or 3 years.
That big old underground lump at Kallak has been his pay check for the past 7 years, and is likely to also be his pension pot, Eric. And he has to do very little for it other than a bit of fancy dancing when funds get low. Oh and it makes little difference to him at what price or how he raises funds.
Sadly, I don’t believe it will be any comfort to you in your old age.

On 15 July in the BRR Media interview, Budge was asked about responding to the UNESCO report by 6th September. His very dismissive response was “ it won’t take that long to reply “
Well where is it then?
It should have been ready in June. Budge has turned into a ( not very good ) BS merchant.
Very little of what he says has credibility.

The company’s lawyers are involved in the response. Lawyers take forever to do anything to maximise their fee. Expect a reply very close to the deadline, IMO.
