Why is the new minister asking for a statement from the Sami at all?
He has more than enough information from all parties already to make a decision, doesn’t he?
Could it be he needs a get out of jail free card to play?

The Sami have until 16th to make a final statement.
When the new minister has received it, I suspect he will go into a different mode to the last two days. More along the lines of “ the issues at play here are very complex and a decision is will be fortcoming “ ie meaningless.
I’ll stick with my belief that nothing will happen until after the next election, by which time the greens might be back in the mix.

Inconsistencies are also beginning to appear in Budge’s statements.
Over a year ago, the planned drilling campaign at Kallak was hastily and mysteriously cancelled for Covid related reasons he said at the time.
When questioned about the same plans to drill yesterday, he said there would be no drilling necessary or useful until the concession has been awarded and feasibility studies were underway.
The reasoning being that the resource is enough to win the argument for the concession already.
So what’s changed since 2020.
As far as Kosovo and Finland are concerned, it was all waffle. Electric vehicles are already a reality and selling in volume. BEM is years away from digging anything out of the ground.

And nothing is exactly what we got. This CEO is supine and the swedes find him so easy to ignore. It is embarrassing.

You have to question Budge’s motivation for bothering with yesterday’s Q & A session.
1. Didn’t even last the full 30 minutes
2. Every poster’s reference to having submitted questions states their questions were not included
3. No questions carried any real heft or put Budge on the spot

No, it is very clear to me that your CEO was simply taking the opportunity to distance himself from all previous delays during his 7+ years tenure and to exonerate the swedes for any further delays, conditioning investors to expect nothing until after next September’s election.
Of course, those without the rose tinted specs already knew this.
The last thing you want to hear from a CEO after suffering such excruciating paralysis, is an excuse for the inevitable continuation of investor’s pain and financial loss.
He does not earn his salary ( £3k a week ) and buckets of shares, in my opinion.

Disappointing indeed.

Frankly, there is so little expectation of Budge’s capabilities after seven years in post, that apathy will keep people away and, happy clappers will be welcomed to praise him for his “ professionalism “
He should be getting a thorough roasting, but it won’t happen, in my opinion.
