Regarding the egotistical tyrant, Putin. In my view he sees the USA as weak under Biden, and is indulging himself in his favourite dick waving. He mistakes fear for respect. As he will never acquire the latter from the US, he uses fear.
Would he have behaved like this when Trump was in charge? No way.

You are perfectly entitled to have faith in your heavy investment. But it is informed by a need for a payoff rather than the evidence thus far.
It is sill of you to say anything about the decision being a no. Of course that will never happen. But delay is the ally of the weak, and you have 9 years of evidence of that being their only tactic.
Thor has been in a number of meetings with various Sami groups as well as a full day out with them on the skidoo.
Yet he has not even said hello to Budge. Don’t you consider that odd?
Thor has said on many occasions he loves mines. It is meaningless without a decision and action to back it up.
He probably loves world peace and an end to the climate crisis, but he is unlikely to act to make a jot of difference.
His performance on TV tptesterday was just more hype. He was deliberately general and vague in his comments, and he wasn’t pushed.
If Paxo had been interviewing, when he professed his love for mines, he would have pushed him on the long overdue Kallak decision. There was none of that. Another easy ride for Thor.

And, of course, the Sami’s comments may themselves provide Thor with his get out of jail free card, as the comments may need lengthy and thorough investigation and further input from all sides.
I can’t bring myself to trust him, until and unless I have hard evidence that he can be trusted in the matter of the Kallak application.

So when Thor reads the Sami’s final submission, which will be a combination of waffle and unfounded allegations against all and sundry and how the whole world is against them, he has no context in which to assess the comments without having first sought a thorough and equal briefing from the company.

but his decision is on a mining license, so to never have met or spoken with the company throughout tells me he is another decision avoider.

I would have agreed with you had Baylan still been in position, but, in my view, Thor has already hoisted himself on his own petard by repeatedly espousing the virtues of Swedish mines. It is but a short additional step to put a date on the decision he has already committed to making?

You are absolutely correct. Every time Thor speaks, it is the same mantra that he loves mines, Sweden needs more mines and they will be an integral part of the transformation to a green economy.
After 4 months in post however, he has fallen into the age old pattern of being played and colluding with those who oppose a mine at Kallak and will do anything to stop Thor making the decision.
He needs to silence the Sami by stating he will make a decision on or by a specific date to quell all this uncertainty.
In the absence of tangible progress, this shares volatility and traded volumes are governed exclusively by uncertainty and sentiment.
This has to stop now.

This is nothing to do with any specific date.
It is 100% about Thor's credibility, which is fading fast. Hence today's high volume sell off in both markets.

I would say today’s activity on the markets both here and in Sweden display a very healthy skepticism for the minister’s words.
What are you going to do / say when March comes and goes without a decision?

Given the swede’s abject performance over the past nine years, the only firm date I am prepared to acknowledge is the day a legally watertight decision is reached and properly communicated to all stakeholders simultaneously ( which would be a first )
Saying March is no different to previous ministers using words like forthcoming and prioritised.
Until it’s happened, nothing is firm at all.

Although ideologically, morally, philosophically and culturally opposed to any and all new mines, you can be sure the Sami will happily climb down from their ‘ moral high ground ‘ to take a cut in the profits generated by the nasty horrible mine when if the decision goes against them.
The Sami are an anachronism in the modern world and should display much more realism if the seriously want to thrive and not be sidelined.

There will be many cashing in now as they probably reasonably believe this to be the peak in the SP before the decision.
Of those cashing in, many have had enough waiting and don’t have the stomach for another few years. Life is passing us all by here.
Most importantly, Thor is now at the point, having announced a March decision?? Where he has presided over and allowed 5 months ( closer to the election ) to slip by.
Personally, as I’ve said before, I’ll judge him on what he does rather than says. Currently, this procession of delays alarms me, given the appalling lies and prevarication of his two predecessors.
