Interestingly nobody has touched on it this evening but Fast and Furious 9 having netted $70 Mill on its opening weekend in the US has just extended it's theatrical window from 17 to 31 days, so just about doubling it's play time in Regal theatres.

F9 is a Universal Studios distributed film and as such should be subject to Universal's signed agreement with Regal. Therefore if it crosses $50 Million on the opening weekend then the theatrical window lengthens as above to 31 days.

What it means is that the F9 show, with Universal backing, should be in town for the next month and looking to maximise their own revenues. Advertising, chat shows and interviews, star drop ins etc etc.

From our very own perspective it also allows us to add to the Box Office Cume (Cumulative Audience) in the extended time period.

May even have been the case when it opened in China.

May have some catching up to do. Box Office Mojo in some respects can be good but especially when it comes to International figures it takes time to filter properly through. Worldwide for Fast and Furious 9 for instance I expect to rise.

On that point I concur. Pre-sale tickets in the cinemas I checked looked strong and with 10 days still to go. Already booked 3 tickets myself for Black Widow and the IMAX screen again.

Might see some "lane switcha's" tomorrow.

I saw the film myself on IMAX on Friday and thought it surpassed all that I had seen in the franchise thus far for thrills and spills, from the minefield scenes, to trashing Edinburgh, writing off the bulk of some 250 cars in Tbilisi and the space dimension. Humour, it also had it courtesy of Roman (Tyrese Gibson). Funny guy. Views shared by a fair few on social media. Imho well worth every penny and great entertainment if you haven't seen it.

Initial forecasts incidentally were for £50-$60 Million opening Box Office so it looks like it will surpass.

What you are now seeing are not the forecasts but the revised projections, given the knowledge of Friday and Saturday takings. They won't be too far short of the mark at $67M or $68M.
